Pretty difficult choice, dude... I really don't know, because once you sandblast them it could be even worse. 😬 Do you think you can get enough good parts from both of them to build one? Anyway... Great luck! 😊 And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
In ten years the orange truck will be a super clean find. I think the red one has just as many issues because you can't see what they have done, still I would go with the red truck, hard to tell until you grind away all that bondo. Use a magnet, theres a lot of bondo in that red truck.
Use red for parts. Un-fucking the red would be more than a headache. Also you have confirmed good engine on orange and body is getting under control without fixing some one elses "hidden treasures".
The cab on the orange one looks like it's going to require an entirely new floor pan and seat boxes, the load bed is trash and will need to be replaced. The red one also has issues but it seems like it'd be less work to get a better truck in the end. Ultimately, if you want a BIG project, keep both. If you want less stress, keep the red and part out the orange.
Keep both. Use the orange as a donor parts for the red one. I would still go for a 3 or 4L TDI Audi motor and brake upgrade for a more enjoyable drive!
Overall it's kind of looking like the red one is your best bet. However just by seeing what you've been able to do so far on the orange one, if financially you can keep both then I am going to vote both... Of course this is the opinion of a guy who has little to no body work skill LOL, so my opinion may not carry much weight.
If you're only restoring one, do the red one and keep the orange one for parts... otherwise, it would be nice to restore both, and use the Camper with the Red one and use the Orange one to haul stuff.
Hey, Sebastian, I did comment on your video 3 times and they were removed, don`t know why. so I would only that you take a peek at my last two videos, there you find some more hints where to look all the best. and take care. greetings.Hubertus
