Jj has the skill to throw for 4500 yards and 40 touchdowns a year going forward with the receivers he has now. In Michigan harbaugh wouldn’t let anyone throw like that. If the coach lets him rip it he can be one of the best passers in the league. He has a cannon for an arm.

Honestly in terms of hate McCarthy has got to be one of if not the most hated QBs all time in terms of someone who hasn’t even started their rookie year yet. Like I’m blown away by the amount of hate I see every McCarthy/Draft post people try to rip him apart. He’s gonna prove all those people wrong but unfortunately those people will just spin it as “oh that’s cause of the weapons the Vikings have”
@johnpreston3706
@johnpreston3706 19 дней назад
I haven't seen anyone say anything bad about McCarthy as a person. People pointed out McCarthy's lack of College QB production. That is not hate. Its QB analysis & the questioning was based on his low passing productivity in college. The McCarthy army became a trigger for many fans because this "McCarthy Movement" started calling for an unsupportable three first rounders Vikings tradeup to get an unproven JJ McCarthy. JJ McCarthy at Pk 10 for one first is solid. I hope Vikings fans get behind him and are patient when he struggles early.

Also gotta throw this out there cause I haven’t seen anyone bring this up, we went from one of the oldest QBs in the NFL (Kirk) to the youngest QB in the NFL (JJ). And since Bridgewater was brought up he was a solid QB for us but that injury changed everything.

Hmm I don’t see that comp. I remember Brad’s playing days and he didn’t have nearly the arm JJ has. My biggest concern with JJ is his ability to throw with touch when touch is required. He throws a fast ball. Brad never had that velocity.

IMO what makes Fran so great is that he played in another era where QBs were not a protected species. Deacon Jones said that they wanted to end his career. They hated chasing him in a hot LA Coliseum. His WR could be hit downfield plus he played a 14-game schedule for most of his career. That 2 games less per season for 18 years.

It will be hard to build team with no day 2 draft picks. You overpay for FA. If Kwesi plan is to build on 1st rd, FA and UDFA, good luck. My guess is he undervalues draft picks in round 2-7 because he has shown he cannot identify talent past first rd.

Honestly I think that take from Manny is off about McCarthy not being the best athlete. He ran a 4.48 at Michigan camp a year ago, just watch out he's gonna catch some by surprise at his running.
@intrepidfool
@intrepidfool 18 дней назад
He also had the 5th best 3 cone at the Combine. Among *all* players. RB, WR, DB. He has elite lateral quickness and agility for a QB. Just because he didn’t run much, doesn’t mean he cannot. He is a pass first guy that keep his eyes downfield when scrambling but he won with his feet often enough when he had to. His athleticism translates to the NFL. He isn’t a punishing, physical runner like Allen or a talented pure runner like Jackson, but he has more than enough wiggle and speed to keep defenses honest.

I’ve seen I lot of things comping JJ to Alex Smith and I just don’t see it. JJ is a much better runner, like so many people overlook JJs ability to run with the ball it honestly reminds me of Pat Mahomes, what I mean by that is Pat is a guy who doesn’t run often and is always pass first but when he runs he can run for some big plays same as JJ. Also with what was said about stats I don’t care if JJ has low stats compared to Kirk’s huge stats what matters will be if he can win the big games can he win against winning teams cause Kirk couldn’t.

JJ McCarthy ceiling is John Elway that’s right Hall of Famer John friggin Elway. I’m also getting a little tired of people saying McCarthy doesn’t have a strong arm. If I recall he through 61 miles an hour at the combine second only Milton. If that’s not a strong arm then I don’t know what it is.
@intrepidfool
@intrepidfool 20 дней назад
Correct. Coller doesn’t like McCarthy and brings on guests that don’t like McCarthy. The people that gravitate to his channel and continue to watch videos where he misrepresents McCarthy to fit his personal bias also don’t like McCarthy. Allen and Milton clocked 62 mph at the Combine. Next, is McCarthy at 61 for third best ever. The next best time is like 58 mph. The comps to weak arm QBs are insane. McCarthy has a cannon, is incredibly accurate, attacks defenses, performs amazing under pressure and in big spots, is athletic with elite lateral agility and quickness to extend plays, and is skilled throwing on the run and off platform. His ceiling is Elway or Young and not Smith or Johnson. Doesn’t mean he reaches his ceiling, but his potential is extremely high. He could become elite.

Jj will have a better career than Williams. Jj can be one of the best qb’s ever. He runs a 4.40 40 yard dash. He can run all over the place. He’s not as indecisive as Williams. He doesn’t need to run forever. He sees a play and threads a needle. He doesn’t play playground ball. Jj can run for 700 yards a year. But no one wants that. That’s how your qb only has a 5 year career.

@intrepidfool 20 дней назад
I find the comparison to Bridgewater a disservice to McCarthy. The only resemblance is staying calm under pressure and being a likeable, high EQ guy. McCarthy is far more athletic and has a cannon to make all the tight window throws that are necessary in the NFL. Bridgewater was a high intangibles but limited tools guy. McCarthy is high intangibles combined with high tools. But at least the comp to Bridgewater checks some boxes. The comp to Ponder is ludicrous as Ponder didn’t have the tools or the intangibles.
@vikings_fans_anonymous

@@intrepidfool I was referring to more of the mental/emotional aspects of Bridgewater.
@intrepidfool
@intrepidfool 20 дней назад
@@vikings_fans_anonymousAgree with the EQ and leadership aspect. I think McCarthy’s tape shows he is a much better decision maker that can go through progressions and get the ball out on time. I’ve also seen too many comps (mostly on this channel) that leave out either McCarthy’s mental or physical tools in order to compare him to a lesser caliber QB. McCarthy could flop, they all could, but his ceiling is very high as he checks all the boxes.

watching JJ McCarthy highlites i didnt see him throw the deep ball 1 time but sure hope hes got that ability to throw the bomb especially to Justin Jefferson & Jordan Addison! Does he have that part of his game?
@kyllerkill
@kyllerkill 20 дней назад
He can throw deep. He threw a bunch of 35-40 deep routs. But none of the 60 yard deep balls. Michigan didn’t have a receiver to do that. He has the arm to but needs the receiver to be able to catch the ball. With Jefferson I think that’ll change.
@intrepidfool
@intrepidfool 20 дней назад
@@kyllerkillMaybe. That isn’t Jefferson’s game either. Or Addison’s. Or KOC’s for that matter. They all excel exactly where McCarthy does: intermediate passing game with some deep outs and crossers. Sure, the occasional go or fade route is there but most of the deeper stuff is post/flag, crossers, and outs. McCarthy shines at all of that.
