Thanks for putting out this video.. I've been on the fence about picking up the dry Creek z... I really like how it is submersible and it keeps everything dry I just wish it had a little bit more organization on the inside. I thought about also maybe just getting the free stone and grabbing the Sims dry Creek accessory pouch.. actually grabbing a couple of those and sticking them inside for things that I want to keep dry in case I end up in the drink. The price on that dry creek though.....hmmm. Wonder if I should just say screw it and get the dry Creek backpack instead.. decisions decisions... Yes the struggle is real!..

Absolutely, thanks for watching! There definitely is not one perfect bag for all situations...I wish there was! I always try and buy gear for what I’m doing the most and make it work for everything else. Let us know what you end up with and what you think!

All good points to consider. I have a sling pack for all day excursions. I use it for both conventional and fly fishing. When I'm not out all day I use a waist pack. I love my sling pack, but I use my waist pack more often. My primary quarry are smallies in S.E.Michigan .

Waist packs are perfect if you can get away without wading too deep. That was always my go-to living out west... up north you'll be drying all your gear out after every trip!

I’m a big user of Sling packs, water proof slings are good & bad, your basically paying for a dry bag (sack) with sling strap & water proof zipper. The Z pack looks lighter then the Patagonia pre 2021 h2o proof. Both need at least adjustable compartments in side to organize things. With out set compartments everything jumbles together & is a serious PIA. That’s my two cents. Good luck, full stop seems best over all solution but not is wet environments like he said. Cheers

Thanks for the video! May I ask which sunglasses you're wearing? (model/tint)

I fish Smokies rivers. Climbing boulders and navigating obstacles. Sling packs are always falling forward and around to the front when bending over. Do these fall forward?

Sounds like you have some beautiful water to keep you busy exploring! These are all going to fall forward if you're loaded down and not utilizing the cross-body strap. It's not everyone's favorite but that strap is awesome when you're on the move and want everything secure behind you.

@@brianpitser3028 I'll live with a strap if it prevents that. Thanks for the reply

I have had that tippet holder bust loose twice. The design needs improvement.

Totally agree Barney, it was a good idea that could use some improvement!

Thanks - im not a fisherman - im here because im tired of all these hipster bags that claim “weatherproof” and arent even close!! -so i did some research and found that fishermen and kayakers got the real deal!! Buttt daaayyuuung the price for actual waterproofing?! Yikes!!

Thanks for watching! You're right, waterproof bags are not cheap! If you're looking to keep your costs down, a roll-top bag will likely be $100 less than anything else. You'll just have to accept the tradeoff for organization and the convenience of a zipper.
