Royal Mail should never have been allowed to do this. There is no secure way of sending your stamps to them for the swap out. Anything in the post to that address is ripe for stealing and you have no recourse from Royal Mail if this happens. A stamp should be valid indefinitely.
Good summary, thank you! 👍 Yes, there's still no "official" answer to those "grey areas" and as the Royal Mail sometimes have difficulty recognising their own valid stamps this will no doubt be an ongoing issue. Postal stationery is another matter, of course... try finding any confirmation one way or another.
Thank you, and I agree with what you said. That's why I'm not interested in testing the boundaries of stamps in grey areas. Postal workers themselves may not have a clear understanding of the 'clear' policies regarding official documents.
As always, excellently and clearly structured information. I wonder how the ambiguous stamps will be dealt with by the Royal Mail system. Even though I am not in the UK, I enjoyed this interesting video. Thanks, Richard.
