Thank you for the review, Petra. Great help in sourcing my church's encoder. Will go for Web Presenter 4K, as we already had a basic ATEM Mini switcher now. Great video!

Completly agree with what you have said Petra, and have gone down the route of using an encoder for my Live video work. Mainly to take the load off my laptop as this is only used for graphics. I use 4G networks and therefore feel it's probably safer and less prone to be hacked. However there are many encoders on the market, you have only labelled the RU-vid few, primarily based on what your RU-vid peers are telling you, and as many of these become affiliated with the companies that send them the gear, it's in their interests to get you hooked. Teradek, TBS even Chinese knockoffs, all do the Job, and most of these are RTMPS enabled so be open minded before putting your trust in certain brands, as for the most part, when demand goes up for these devices, quality generally goes down, as certain parts can't be sourced and a comprise is met, whilst still commanding a high price. Great content overall from yourself Petra, glad the RU-vid aglorithm suggested you.

Hey Matt, thanks a lot for the reaction. I agree my list wasn’t extensive. I will continue my search and also check the brands you have added in the text.

Does the Webpresenter HD with cellular USB functions like the LRT with bonding of the LiveU Solo, but without any extra contract costs? Does the cellular connection automatically takes over the connection if the LAN connection crashes? Thank your for your answer?
@TechCondo
@TechCondo 2 года назад
Dear fellow church producer. You can indeed add one 4G/5G modem for GSM data. The unit will indeed switch automatically from ethernet to the modem. There will be a short glitch, but that’s all. It does not have a bonding service like LRT unfortunately. Hope it helps

@@TechCondo Thank you for your answer. Another question. We need a simple encoder solution in our church for livestreaming. Does the Webpresenter HD functions in this way that you only have to turn it on to start the streaming process. For sure you have to insert youtube adress and key at the first time....but is this valid and saved for future streamings? We have helping hands for that, but they don't know anything about the technical aspects and how to correct them.

@@kirchengemeindebrueckmerheim yes for youtube you can set and forget. For facebook you need change the key every time you go live (I assume this is still valid for facebook)

How to connect Atem Mini with Blackmagic Web Presenter HD can you please help me
@TechCondo
@TechCondo 3 года назад
Hi Danny, you can’t directly connect the atem mini with the web presenter as it uses sdi as input. You can use a blackmagic micro hdmi to sdi converter in between the two. Is that helpful?
@DannyDavidKavungal
@DannyDavidKavungal 3 года назад
@@TechCondo so using converter we can connect in our ATEM mini HDMI port right
@TechCondo
@TechCondo 3 года назад
@@DannyDavidKavungal yes, the flow is like this: atem mini hdmi out -> hdmi to sdi converter ~~> sdi in of webpresenter

Just say NO to Solo. They are overpriced, the customer support is nonexistent and the actual SRT and bonding services are not as great as everyone says. I just got the Solo Pro for $1550. They say it can take four sim inputs but the device only has two available via USB. You have to by a special cable to get four. They say it has SRT but my SRT attempts all failed. I am questioning whether the SRT is actually in the hardware or if it is done in the cloud via software (which would be sad). Either way, it didn't work for me and SRT was the only reason I spent the extra $$ of the PRO version. The solo wasn't reliable. It only worked 2 of the four nights we needed it. The Pro isn't even built from the ground up. They just stuck it in the chassie of the LU300. So it has ports that don't do anything and they just stuck rubber over them so you can't use them (for example the chassie has a slot for a an SD card but it doesn't do anything. It doesn't even record the stream - it isn't even connected). For $1500 you think they would give it its own chassie, but no, they cut corners. So it is larger than it need to be and has ports that do nothing. There is nothing good to say about liveU. I paid their ransom and then got robbed. avoid at all cost. Go with something more reliable like Teradek of the Pearl.

Hi Steve, I unfortunately don’t have access to a PRO model. SRT will indeed run via the LiveU cloud. The added value of LiveU is LRT which the others don’t have. I’ve seen that there will be a firmware update that will also enable SRT for my model. Definitely will test ones I get the firmware
@SteveVickAK
@SteveVickAK Год назад
 @TechCondo I talked with LiveU today and they said the SRT for the solo is already released. They also confirmed that the SRT endoding does not happen in the unit. It happens via the LRT cloud bonding. If you don't use LRT you don't get SRT. This means that the unit itself is not sending the SRT. And the whole point of using SRT (at least for me) is to reduce bandwidth needs and packetloss. SRT encoding does not happen in the device so no bandwidth savings when you send the stream to the LRT cloud. Once the video hits the LRT cloud it gets converted to SRT and then sent where ever you direct it. So from the LRT cloud to your destination the bandwidth usage is optimized. But that has no impact on your own bandwidth usage from the unit to the LRT Cloud. So if anyone plans to use SRT to save bandwidth from the unit to the LRT cloud, it won't help at all.

@@SteveVickAK thanks. Guess you can also check the kiloview encoder. These are not as expensive as eg the pearl. I love the pearl but it’s really expensive
