Which Sub-Factions Should Get Their Own Combat Patrol?

I’d like to see the other chaos space marine factions get one like iron warriors, red corsairs, word bearers, etc… they could easily do an upgrade sprue like they did for the night lords kill team

I definitely want them to continue to make Combat Patrol rules for Kill Teams.

Kroot should 100% get one to align with the army box. I'm hoping it was only delayed due to the 'WD 500' focus... so fingers crossed for WD 501!! I'd love an Iron Warriors one, however I doubt we will until/if GW gives us a proper focus. Actually, they could create a Combat Patrol based on detachments. The framework and theme is there, just simplify and create a list. Then the path to expand beyond the CP list is even easier as you can grow into the main 40k detachment.

I can see that GW got the Codex and battle forces again in EU. think they went in and canceled the scalpers orders like they have done before.

Instead of having 6 boxes of Space Marines, how about just making 2 boxes of the larger factions like Guard and Orks etc.

Could easily see a Combat Patrol for Kroot. ofc for Chaos Daemons one for each chaos good. Nids could be a swarm box and one more elite, don't think we will see a monster Combat patrol. Aeldari Aspect warriors small 5 man squads instead of 10 man like we get in the normal boxes, and a Wraith Combat patrol and ofc combat patrols in White Dwarf, think we already have one or two.

Imperial agends 2 amigers warglafs 1 Vindicator assesin an inquisitor and 1 unit inquisitor agends. Make 480 p It wood costs seperatly inquisitor 20 €, 35 agends, 60€ 2 amigers, assassin 27€ Total:142 Savings in box wood be 38 % It wood work as imperial agends, knights or assisting combad patrol

I am genuinly surprised we don't have a kroot combat patrol.

I would like a Gaunt's Ghosts combat patrol for Imperial Guard, but that would require them actually make Tanith guardsmen so that's probably never gonna happen

What you described is basically a bigger kill team box. We have gotten so many kill teams that give us unique models and flavour. It is just that they tend to make the boxes annoying to get.

A new necron combat patrol with actually more than 10 warriors blob will be good, like a canoptek combat patrol or a lychgudar-pretorians combat patrol.

a combat patrol for knights would be awesome, 2 or 3 armagers would be just nice to have something for them.

The existing SM combat patrols need an upgrade first I think. Black templars is decent, SW get 1 chapter specific model and it's a lieutenant, and DA and BA get nothing beyond accessories. I get why this is (they don't want to push firstborn), but white dwarf rules should just bypass this. You can make a basic SW CP with a predator, iron priest, 3 thunderwolf cavalry, and 10 basic marines that can be blood claws, grey hunters, or split grey hunters and wolf guard. 4 units, a character, some loadout options, and 420-460pts, done

Every Battle Force box should have a Combat Patrol list (reduced like leviathan). I'm still very upset the Kroot Battle Force box didn't get accompanying combat patrol rules. GW should just be cranking out Combat Patrol rules like in White dwarf non-stop. There is no reason to be stingy here.

Yes! and buy Yes, I mean real discount boxes and not rules for a orphaned gaming system that nobody plays more then 5 times even if they are beginners.

Feels strange that GW goes through cycles of wanting to get new people on board with discounts and tempting boxes and then pricing those same people out of the hobby, meaning the only people that will continue to invest, are already the people in the hobby. I don't understand the directionless nature of it, but their profits are going up so what do i know 🤷

I don't like combat patrol because of how there's 0 customization of anything. If it was literally just 500 pts games with the rules slightly changed up and still allowed some army building it'd be so much better, i think

combat patrol is not meant to be a serious format, it is made so that when Timmy buys a box he can have a few fun games to learn the basic rules and then Move on to proper 40k and start building a real army, if you want skirmish games there is warcry, kill team, star wars shatter point etc. most people that play 40k more than 3 times a year cant stand playing combat patrol more than once or twice, you literal fall asleep, only reason to touch the format is to play with someone new. Sure more combat patrols for sub-factions as start collecting box is fine, but taking the combat patrol format serious is kinda weird.
