Thank you Everyone for Watching! If you have a leathercraft topic you would like to see me cover, please leave me a reply below. Also make sure to check out my other leather stitching videos: ru-vid.com/group/PLcyBfQSJi8Vf1JkzfbjsKhtlTRgsEIAWc
I've been binging your videos and they're so clear and helpful! I've been trying to figure out how to make a particular project, but have little experience working with leather, and you've helped me understand some key points.
Hola me acabo de suscribir a tu canal me encantó tu forma de trabajar estoy empezando a trabajar las pieles y me. motivaste a seguir intentando y a no rendirme me da pena no saber ingles y entender mejor tus tutoriales. Gracias por enseñarnos .
This video was the simplest and easiest to understand. It helped me out so much. I know now what size thread to buy for my small wallet projects! CHEERS!
Another very useful video! The most confusing thing for me is thread sizes. If you look on RU-vid, it's almost impossible to find a good video on the different thread sizes with examples of each. You touched on some of it here but it seems that there is a lot more to learn about the different sizes of threads, the types of materials they are made of, the thread sizes that are commonly used for different products (watches, wallets, hand bags etc.) and which needle to use with which thread.
Thanks! I think what you are looking for is a combination of stitching hole spacing and thread thickness. These two go hand in hand when looking at project selection. I have an upcoming video on thread brands so I will be able to touch more on the different materials.
Another great video. Not sure how many different stitching irons you have but it's worth mentioning the difference in stitch appearance created by various irons and the differing holes they create. Be good to know a bit more about your background as your audience, I'm sure, are intrigued. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for the suggestions. I already have a video comparing the look of stitching from various chisel types. Check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-udA0AnNxWEo.html
How about a video on starting and stopping when stitching. Specifically, how many stitches to back stitch at the beginning and end. Which are effective and look good. There seem to be many different opinions on how to start and stop a stitch line. I only know they should match in number. Only a suggestion.
Thank you for your suggestion. I have been meaning to do a more focused stitching video that would cover that in detail. For now I would say any back stitching you do should be balanced and that it is only strictly required for linen thread. You can get away with no back stitches when using polyester thread for the cleanest look.
Estaré atenta a tu respuesta, muchas gracias.
please make video on explaining different mm like 3 4 or 5 mm pricking itron prongs .i am planing to buy one set for home diy stuff making and learning but i am confused on which daimond shaped prong size should i buy,plz do reply
Hi, that is a good idea for a video. For starting in leathercraft I would recommend 3.85 or 4mm, which is suitable for small and medium projects. 3mm or less is normally reserved very small projects like watch straps, and 5mm is more suitable for large projects like bags.
@@TeranAtelier hello there thank you for replying i was wandering if 4mm is good for ipad and iphone covers wallets watch straps and belts ,pouches and even bags and backpacks wtc i mean i am new to leather craft and i follow you ,leodis and a few more and learning many things but i am also very selective about tools dont want to lose money for useless items so needed guidance.thank you brother for reply and guidance.
They are all round twisted polyester threads. There are few different brands there but all are around 0.5 to 0.55mm. Flat will give you a wider looking stitch for the same thickness but after stitching you should be hammering down on your stitches so they end up being quite similar. I suggest trying both and seeing which one you like more.
