And you don't become one without incredible discipline, astute knowledge of your (and your opponent's) strengths and weaknesses, and an unbreakable spirit. His answers: Lara at his best being a shade better than Tendulkar, Dravid as part of his dream hattrick, and even the fact that he never forgot the SCG 1994 game despite being one of the earliest of his career - gives you a sneak peek into how keenly he thought about the game.

@@shashanksingh1785 To be fair, McGrath has a valid point. When you look at the stats, Sachin averages just 37 in Tests when he played against McGrath (and he scored just 2 hundreds in the 18 innings he played against McGrath). Pretty far below his overall career stats. Most of Sachin's great performances came against Aus came only when McGrath was absent. Lara, on the other hand, averages 47 in Tests when playing against McGrath (relatively not far below his career average) and has scored plenty of great centuries against McGrath including 2 double-centuries as well.

Great interview questions! Short, fun, and also inviting illuminating answers. I learned a lot about Glenn McGrath and the cricket of his era. (And, I lived through it!) My favourite question and answer: #3. "Which bowling variation..?". "The quicker ball, which could go at 100mph". There's a modest chuckle there, as if, despite his record, he's still a bit jealous of the genuine speedsters!

Given what McGrath said @0:37, I am surprised (and glad) to see relatively less dislikes compared to likes on this video, so far at least. If this same video was released 10 years back, it would have had far more dislikes. Usually any cricket-related video where Tendulkar is not rated as the best/greatest batsman (or is not selected in all-time XI), automatically receives massive number of dislikes because of the huge number of insecure Indian Sachin-fans prowling on RU-vid. It is heartening to see (for the first time) that Sachin fan's love for another great cricketer has overcome their insecurity about Sachin.
