I started with a 15lb Mace and a 25lb club (strictly 2 handed exercises) simultaneously in the summer. 100% spot on about going hard on the basics. Honestly get both. Both excellent training tools that vary your movements and get you stronger.

Love that point, that if you are really good at clubs, you can be good at mace. But it doesn't necessarily work the other way around... so true.

Damn my impatience. I was crushing inside/outside circles no problem with 15lbs decided to try mill no problem, but tweaked my elbow on a reverse mill... whelp that was dumb. These videos are still very informative and entertaining though! While I heal I'll continue to watch and program better as to not injure myself again. Thanks mark you've changed fitness for me man!

It seems that the main methods of training on the channel are: kettlebell, heavy club, mace, hydro core, bodyweight, and slam balls. Is there a video where you lay out your thoughts on what each activity brings into a training program? My personal situation. I am in my 40s, have a sedentary job, and a young family. I don't have much free time to learn multiple activities to add into my fitness plan. I plan my workouts around my kettlebells (volume and density cycles) with the goal of lifestyle health (ie: able to play with my kids and age well). I am thinking of adding clubs or hydro core into my mix. I can see the benefit of getting into the lateral plane of motion. I realize there are ways to do this with a kettlebell, though this doesn't seem ideal (in your video you mentioned knee whacking because of the bell's shape as a possible problem). If you have a video about how you view the different trying tools, please point me at it. Apologies for the long description of my situation / question.

For kettlebells, one needs to get really good at the six basic movements (swing, clean, snatch, press, squat, TGU) to progress to more advanced kettlebell techniques. For clubs, would the exercises you mentioned (circles, shield cast, pendulum, pullover, alternating 180, mills) be the equivalent foundational movements to master?

I just went from 35 to 44. This is my 5th week of 44 before going to 53. I haven’t whipped out the 53 yet but I think my shoulders would have a problem with a huge jump. The way I think of it is that even though I’m dishing out the money now, these 3 weight progression can be reused for various alternate style lifts. For example, start back at 35 and do outside cleans instead of inside. Not sure I’d wanna jump from 35 to 53 with those

Just got my first heavy club, it weighs 7.5 kg, I think - dunno what that is in lbs. But I'm having trouble fitting it into my kb-routine. I work out four times a week, with quite heavy KBs (I basically do your nerd math program). Do you have a video about slotting it into nerd math that I've missed? I find that if I do clubs on my rest days, it does kind of mess me up. Not in a bad way, but just in that I just got started with them, so it is quite a work out.
