Update 2 - June 2019: Howard Casto's been busy making further improvements to the PC version of Coast 2 Coast. He's created a course editor, allowing you to make either branched or continuous courses made up of any combination of the original 15 Outrun 2 or SP stages in either their normal or reversed mode. Update 3 - June 2020: RU-vidr and fellow Outrun 2 super-fan Noobsaibot21 pointed out a little Outrun 2 factoid to me tonight that I was previously unaware of; the Ferrari Testarossa (the original 1986 Outrun car) had a very different look in the original arcade Chihiro version of Outrun 2. From Outrun 2 on Xbox and beyond, we've had a different looking car which is the one we're now all familiar with. Which version of Outrun 2 is the best is a question that recently I seem to be getting asked quite a bit in the comment section of some of my Outrun split-screen videos. So, I thought I'd discuss the pros and cons of the different versions of the Outrun 2 games (and in some instances the regional changes too), and the systems they're playable on, to try and come up with a definitive answer.
I did talk a little about the different versions of the modern Outrun games in the 30th anniversary tribute video I made back in 2016, so there is a bit of repetition about certain Outrun 2 factoids here. Having said that though, I do go into quite a bit more detail in this video, specifically comparing the different games to each other and discussing their individual strengths and weaknesses in that respect (plus, the Outrun tribute video was something like the 2nd ever video I'd ever made in a voice over documentary stylee, and I think I'm a bit slicker at it now, so if you enjoyed that video hopefully you'll find this one complements it rather than simply rehashes old ground). Also, there have been a couple of new things happening in the world of Outrun since 2016...
A couple of things just to add: the PC gameplay that starts at 14:08 HAS got the bloom effects in. Also, when I do the 4 way split-screen look at Outrun Online arcade, Xbox Coast 2 Coast and the PC with and without bloom, around the 15:48 mark, the PC footage is looking a tad low res compared to the others. This is because I didn't have the original footage I'd originally recorded on my hard drive anymore and I had to re-record it off RU-vid using screen recording software....

Unfortunately, RU-vid's processing totally bollocks'd up my first upload of this and wouldn't allow it to be viewed in anything other than 360p, despite the fact it was a 4K upload. I was initially hopeful that the RU-vid team would be able to fix it, but over 20 emails later and much reassurance that the RU-vid technical team are 'looking into it', I've realised that nothing's ever going to change, so I've made the rather heart breaking (in view of all the positive comments and interaction it'd received) decision to de-list that video and start again... This is the EXACT same video file, the only difference here is that I uploaded this to my Google Drive first (for the RU-vid technical team to so-say download and look at) before I decided to try exporting it into RU-vid. Initially it looked like the same thing had happened - stuck at 360p - but after 24hrs, all the HD resolutions finally appeared.
