Be aware that, depending on how you clip your knife in and how long the blade is, you can get up to a 6’ sharpening angle difference between heel to tip. Also large blades will deflect downward from the slightest pressure, increasing angle difference. You have to move the blade in the clamp a few times to get an even sharpen

My advice for folks who like their knives sharp, is go with the Precision Elite. Have used it to sharpen everything from pen knives, to kukris, to Wusthof professional chef knives. For the features it gives you, it is a tremendous value. Three hundred bucks is a lot of money, if you aren't charging customers. The Elite can effectively sharpen and polish any blade shorter than 15 inches. It made an old K-Bar kukri that I had pretty much given up on scary sharp

Great review Tomas! I have the PA Elite and it does me just fine. I wouldn't mind seeing a video of you using either system sharpening a blunt knife from start to finish, just so we can see your technique and how you use the system. Huge fan of the channel. Thanks man.

Still have my Buck Hone Master but after 40 yrs of use I decided to buy the OG model. I like having the ability to adjust reveal angle over the BHM (which is fixed). It's small and compact enough and does an excellent job of sharpness. No need to spend more money to get pretty much the same results.

This was a great review. I had the elite unit in my Amazon cart and then came across the video before I made the purchase. You convinced me into getting the pro version.

I went with the PA Elite and after $90 worth of aftermarket purchases, I still can not sharpen small knives. I saw video of a guy using a magnetic attachment which he said can sharpen small knives. Went to the link he provided, bought it and... nope. I even chatted with the designer and he said that it was NOT made for small knives, just EDCs and odd blade shapes. It works awesome for what it was designed for but not small knives. I am now upgrading to the PA Pro. I am hoping I can sell the Elite and recover some money spent. Basically, at the very least it was a $90 lesson. I wish I would have seen this video instead. It is true, you can get a very wickedly sharp edge on a lot of knives on the Elite. Not being able to sharpen small knives is obviously my defining factor. Listen to Tomas.

Great video! Def makes me want to get the professional version. Hopefully by Christmas time worksharp will have these widely available. Also another great worksharp product to possibly review in the future is the guided field sharpener, it’s what I started with before the precision units came out because worksharps powered belt units just never connected with me. The field sharpener is a great tool to have camping or hunting/ woods craft, especially if you stick close to a 20 degree angle sharpening. And it’s super affordable and it’s includes a lot of smart features.

Awesome! I totally agree the guided field sharpener is the best! Here is a link to that review: Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener | A+ Gear Knives/Axes/Hooks ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IPibXbJ9--M.html

i would get the Pro version but i can't afford it, so i might get either the base version or the elite version, or get the base version and then the upgrade kit (that has the rest of the stuff in the elite version) later, also do you think the base version will be able to sharpen M4 Steel?

I know the video is already made but you can just call them the elite and the pro. The old one is the precision adjust knife sharpener elite, and the new one is the professional (pro) precision adjust knife sharpener. And yes I know the base model is just called the precision adjust knife sharpener, but I'm sure people would know what you meant if you called them the elite and the pro.

are the stones/plates of the new model by chance compatible with the work sharp guided sharpening system? or do you know if you can get new 320 and 600 stones/plates? not the ones in the upgrade kit but the original ones

How do you sharpen larger kitchen knives?? It seems that the clamp isn't deep enough to keep the blade from flexing or am I missing something??

I would have like to know that there was an upgraded version right after I purchased mine! I would get the new pro one. I had to get extra stone holders and wider longer stones, and a base holder to make mine work correctly . Are they going to come out with a newer better one in a couple of months?!!

I use Sandpaper. I have sharpened/reprofiled anything up to M390 and Vanadis 4 extra, with ease!! I'ts a myth that you need expensive sharpening systems or diamond stones, to do the job! You pay 1000's of dollars, for just a faster or more precise job, but in the end of the day, the knives will cut the same. It only costs me 0.50 cents to reprofile a knife with sandpaper. With any other system, since they also need to replace, belts stones etc, it costs both the price you paid to get the system, plus what you pay to replace all the time. PS I madde the comment, for people to disagree with me, so I finaly save money to get a good system! LOL Happy New Year!!
