My favorites are probably lttp blue dress, skyward sword skyloft outfit, and her botw princess dress

TP Zelda is the best "realistic" and gritty version of her, and even though you don't like her boots, I actually enjoy them! Lol they look like dirty riding boots. Like I just imagine her busy day of governing and traveling around the Kingdom meeting with people. Do wish she was alowed to do more in the game though

Zelda 2's Zelda is actually a separate character from Zelda 1. It's confusing, but the one from adventure of Link is actually an ancient Zelda kept in a long slumber into the modern day, so when Link finally awakens her, the two Zelda's coexist.

Zelda 1 has a different Zelda than Zelda 2. Zelda 2 Zelda is basically Zelda 1 Zelda’s great aunt.

Ocarina of Time Adult Zelda is my favorite. When I think of a princess, I will admit that Disney has influenced that image greatly and OoT Zelda just hits that balance for me with the royal purple, foresty tiara, and the armored-shoulder pads. Hyrule Warriors Zelda is absolutely peak though for a combat-look.

One notably distinct outfit you missed was her Winter clothing in Age of Calamity, which is a shame because I think the white & brown of that outfit look great on her. Additionally, her outfit in the original Hyrule Warriors also comes in seven alternate colors that you can unlock, and considering how much you love that look it would have been interesting to see you rank every color option from worst to best. And while it's not Zelda herself, it'd have been funny if you included Link wearing her dress in Tri Force Heroes. Also, Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 don't actually feature the same Zelda shockingly enough. The one in Zelda 2 is an ancestor of the one from Zelda 1, who has been asleep for centuries. The confusion likely arose from the fact that they reused Zelda 2 art during the 1994 "gray cartridge" reprint of Zelda 1 years later. So yeah, the one shown in this video is actually just the Zelda 2 design specifically, and the Zelda 1 design is different.

Totk Zelda has definitely gotta be my favourite, the short hair looks so fucking good on her and the zonai dress is just gorgeous. Also since you asked, yeah! Give Cadence of hyrule a shot! It has a demo version as well so there’s really no reason not too

cadence of hyrule is AMAZING!!!! it’s so so fun i highly recommend it, it has great replayability, and the music remixes are amazing too

I think my favorites are LtP Zelda and Smash Ultimate Zelda. They look regal but not overly refined and there’s an adventurous spirit to them. Good mix of classic princess and sorceress. Blue dress too. Everyone needs a casual outfit.

My top 3 would be Zonai, the animated series, and A Link to the Past Zelda.

I agree with you completely. The 3 best zelda designs for me are: 3. Skyward sword, she is still a child\teen in this one but looks beautiful and could probably be skylofts clothier. 2. Twilight zelda. This zelda is more of an adult and grew out of the pink and into a darker and more mature look. Her design is simultaneously simple but extravagant. I also dont mind the boots. She was also the first zelda who we got to see actually try to fight for her kingdom. Also find it funny how in smash bros she is so expressionless, you can tell this version of zelda has seen some stuff and has probobly been traumatized\desensitized. (One thing i dont understand is that in some art of this zelda they have her as blonde with pink instead of purple... Like the smsh bros alt) 1. Hyrule warriors zelda. This version of zelda is pretty much skyward sword zelda and twilight zelda combined. Love the long braid, the armor, and though she is wearing pink she still has this more mature look to her... Now that being said... if you take the time and unlock her blue dress from the twilight map, that is the best zelda outfit

The first Zelda isn't in two games, she's just in the first one. The Adventure of Link is an Immortal Sleeping Beauty scenario, where, after Link finds a Triforce symbol appear on his hand (most likely with two of the three Triforces filled and one missing), Zelda's servant, Impa, tells Link about an ancestor to Zelda (Zelda the First) who had been trapped in a sleeping stasis. After Zelda the First's father died, her brother inherited everything except for the full Triforce. He got the Triforce of Power and Zelda the First got the Triforce of Wisdom, with the third Triforce of Courage being hidden away by the king. A wizard who was the former advisor to the king told the son that Zelda the First knew where the Triforce of Courage was, so they confronted her. She refused to tell them despite the wizard's threats, so the wizard, against the brother's wishes, used all of his power to put her into an eternal sleep. Him using this power killed the wizard, who was implied to be either an incarnation of Ganon or under the influence of an incarnation of Ganon. The brother, in his grief, declared a royal decree that all women born of the royal family must be named "Zelda" so that this tragedy wouldn't be forgotten. When Impa finishes the story, she tells Link that the only way to save Zelda the First is to find the hidden Triforce of Courage and conquer the trials that the king had prepared for whoever would seek it. At the same time, Ganon's minions think that if they kill Link and put his blood over Ganon's ashes, it will revive him. So Link has to combat both the trial given to him and the previous game's enemies simultaneously. Anyway, the Zelda at the end of that game is a separate Zelda from the first game. She is literally generations older than the first game's Zelda, though, physically, she's still in her teens.

The Zelda in my fic(With Courage, Without Choice) is like a mix between BotW, SS, and TP Zelda. She has the sharper eyes of Twilight Princess and Hyrule Warriors Zelda and a formal/regal tailcoat thing composed of dark pink like SS and Royal Blue, and the sleeves end big like BotW Zelda's Dress. She also has BotW Zelda's hairstyle(as depicted in Hyrule Warriors) and leggings with brown boots that have purple detailing. Zelda can also summon a bright white and yellow substance, almost molten-like, that she can sculpt into either a rapier or bow of light. She doesn't wear a crown, representing her unfortunate position in the Hylian Hierarchy (despite being a princess, she's functionally a diplomat or unheard royal advisor at best) while also foreshadowing a choice she'll make at the end of the story.

I'm old, so I got a lot of nostalgic memories about cartoon!Zelda. In my mind I still hear Cyndy Preston's voice narrating Zelda's dialogue in a lot of games, the way other gamers still hear Lou Albano for Mario. But my favorite Zelda design is easily her Hyrule Warriors 1 look. Everything about it screams sleekness and elegance, perfect for a fight.

I can’t say you’d like Cadence of Hyrule based on it being a Zelda spinoff. I LOVE Crypt of the Necrodancer and I LOVE Zelda but I honestly didn’t like it as much as I’d have hoped.

I've never play Skyward Sword, nor do I know everything about the game. Am I still a fan of it? Yes. Would I like to chat with other fellow LoZ:SS fans? YES!

I (subjectively) just don’t like Twilight Princess. Literally the only Zelda game I’d go as far as to say I do not care for at all (beyond the weird spinoff games). So know that I truly mean it when I say that Twilight Princess Zelda is among the best character designs I have ever seen. The way that her appearance alone characterizes her so well is literally insane. Everything just flows together so well, and is so iconic.

I actually like the Four Swords Zelda with the bow. I dunno, I’m a sucker for big bows for some reason. I guess it adds something to her silhouette. I don’t like long princess gloves, so not a fan of a good chunk of the Zelda’s. I like the short sleeve look that started with ALttP. I love bangs and the dress isn’t too long, also the cape. Smash Bros. Ultimate Zelda is probably my overall fave. ❤

See, young Zelda’s dress in Ocarina of Time is cute, it’s more suited to a young princess. But adult Zelda’s dress in the same game is beautiful, more regal. More suited to a more mature princess with more duties and maybe a role in the royal court. Like she’s getting ready to become queen soon. But for Echoes of Wisdom, you only talked about her disguise, her incognito look. You didn’t mention her princess look.

ALSO, I know she isn't Zelda, but seeing as she is the eponymous "Twilight Princess", I can't *believe* you left out endgame Midna! I'm willing to bet a number of people discovered new feelings when *she* showed up.

LOL I will help you throw people in the trash can if they diss Twilight Princess Zelda (and Skyward Sword Zelda, for that matter.) ;) Skyward Sword is my favorite game to date. I wish you had talked about Hilda a bit as well in the Link Between Worlds section, since she's the dark counterpart to Zelda. She and Ravio are some of my favorite characters in the series. :)

I think the TP Zelda is the best version. That dress is just gorgeous and her entire look just makes her the leader of the land that she actually is. It is a very fitting outfit for a princess but not in a standard way and I love that. Also I think I am the minority who doesn't really like the BOTW and TOTK looks.

I, personally, cannot stand Skyward Sword Zelda's hair. Those straight-cut bangs look awful on any character I've seen them on. It's so unnatural, and yeah, it looks awful in real life as well. The only instances where unnaturally straight hair like that looked even vaguely appealing was in Sci-Fi with, say, a cyborg or robot character where everything about the character is unnatural. For me, ugly straight-cut bangs flat-out ruins what would have otherwise been a perfectly good design. I think attempting to make the Twilight Princess style look brighter also didn't help. Something about that games overall look really puts me off. I can't quite place my finger on why, though.

_Skyward Sword_ Zelda is _HOMELY!!!_ and the worst she’s ever looked. Her quaint dress is fine and well for a politician’s daughter interpretation but she’s a butterface. They couldn’t even give her a forehead. The art style of that game makes me appreciate the toon era which I was never a fan of.😒😒😒
