What a fantastic shot at the end, Concord and Alan walking next to the runway!! And a great theme tune. A bygone age, Miss it .

It's strange how a piece of music can transport you back to your youth.....and make one emotional.Loved Alan's shows.

Quality television and we didn’t even know it

I remember wickers world from my childhood and as a young teenager I recall this series and the theme tune Great it stays in one's mind even after all these years. I recall Allen's visits to all the far off countries and as a kid wished someday I could visit these amazing countries thank you Allen and all the team who made these wonderful programs possible

An interesting man from a bygone age... RIP Alan you will be missed.

Now anybody or anyone presents anything! on TV. Zzzzzzz Saw Alan Whicker once on Marylebone High St. London, looking in the window of all things, a Travel Agency.!!

Yes I remember that incredible shot with Concorde

A wonderful opening sequence, so glad we have these memories of Concord. I always looked forward to his program. Although, I like this theme, I think, I prefer the BBC version more. :)

You really get a jet set globe trotting feel from it even though you're just sat at home watching your rumbelows telly circa 1980

I'll let you into a 'secret'. The Concorde ground sequences were filmed at RAF Brize Norton, Alan Whicker really was just walking along side the runway when one took off beside him - it was used as the end shot in the title sequence.

When I think of Whicker's World as I remember it as a kid, I see Concorde taking off while Alan walks at the side of the runway, and I hear the classic (imo) 'Whicker's World' theme, by Graham de Wilde. To me that IS the opening sequence. It seems I've been mistaken for the last 40 yrs 🥴

i used to watch the liverpool version, whackers world.

Just realised this has a bit of Airline to it! Airline was a drama about fictional airline Ruskin Air which was also made by YTV
