Whimsical Water Fountain

I was commissioned to create this copper water fountain over a year ago! For some reason I just struggled to get into a creative mind set with the fountain. I would cruise around town looking for copper cups, bowls and vases and just didn't find anything that struck me as artist or fun looking.
I think I just work better under the pressure of a deadline. Once I knew the client was coming back into town and was anxious to get the fountain, somehow I was able to get it completed.
Do you need a deadline to keep you on task? Or are you able to get the task completed with plenty of time to spare?
In any case, it's doubtful that I will do one of these for a long while. However I am pleased at how it turned out and that it does have that whimsical feel about it.
Thanks for checking it out

Just found your website, I love it!! I’ve always loved making things, I was a child of the “Mousetrap “ game era and after that we were always tinkering with stuff to make cool things. I just retired & finally have the time to learn to make the kind of cool stuff that you make & am so excited to find your website! Thank you for your instruction!

Mousetrap, was such an inspiration for me growing up. That led me to Rube Goldberg and the door to creation was wide open at that point. Enjoy retirement and hope you enjoy making cool things.

@@ArtfullyRogue thanks so much! I’m going to watch your videos on welding, really want to do that. Your talent shines in your creations & I do see some Mousetrap in that copper fountain piece, haha! I love water features and also stained glass, haven’t had time for that either. I learned about that probably 30 years ago. Think my grinder still works lol?! It’s a big leap from our tinkering with clothespins, rubber bands & paper clips to welding & making actual cool, big stuff. I also want to make wind chimes like Belle (?) made in the movie “Tornado”. I have a collection of pretty common wind spinners that my husband calls the wind farm…….. Thanks for writing back!

I'm working on adding a glass vortex to the water feature. Simply a water supply, off center hole aimed counter clockwise. A centered bottom drain. A punch bowl or cheap glass is mesmerizing!
