Wonderful information. You gave me the knowledge to discover and fix my issue. Had house painted and the exhaust shutters were sealed by the paint. A simple fix without a repair bill. WONDERFUL! Thank you!
This video was so good I never fix appliances but every step including showing the multimeter helped me fix my washer with one trip to ace hardware. Thank you!!!!!!!!

@ 10:37 Isn't that the thermal fuse? All other videos I have seen show that shaped component as a fuse. The component to the right of it was likely the thermostat?
I put in new coils, new thermal fuse and no change. Finally cleaned the heat sensor strips with some scotchbritepad. Even though they appeared quite clean and shiny, they must have been glazed over with something. After scrubbing them the clothes now come out dry. I say try the sensors first because its easy and cheap. Perhaps second if airflow out the duct is suspect.
Thank you for sharing this Thomas, awesome job pinpointing the cause. Like you said, even being glazed over a bit can cause havoc. Hopefully many stress free days ahead for you.
@@monicakay3084 Thanks for watching, what are you experiencing? This is a gas fed dryer system with coils and thermostat cutoff sensors/switches. Thermostat is mounted on lint draw ductwork underneath unit.

My harbor freight meter starts at 1. When I test the thermostat (what you did at the end of the video) it jumps for a second and goes down to 001. Does that still mean it needs to be replaced? Thanks for your help!
my dryer stop working, so i went and bought a used one, but i kept the old one, and watching a bunch of videos like this one, i fixed the dryer, in one month later, the used dryer that i bought, stop working, so i installed the one i fixed, it was so interesting, my wife will never be without a dryer again... first dryer was the thermofuse, and the second was the motor belt, order the part, and in half an hour i was done
Thanks for watching & sharing this, thats awesome that you took the time & turned your old dryer into a DIY project and fixed it. Awesome job, we love reading comments like this that share DIY experiences. Hopefully many stress free days ahead for you. 😎👍
Great video. I replaced the thermistor and new circuit board and still get a pf code after trying to start then turns off on a whirlpool duet dryer. Door switch and motor continuity checks out good. Any ideas where to check next. Thanks.
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. You may need to manually reset & clear error code. Press (Pause/Cancel button) twice & (Power button) once. If that doesn’t work, unplug machine & leave unplugged for a minimum of 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, plug machine back in and see if this reset procedure clears code. 😎👍🔧🔩
Hi there! So first and foremost I have to tell you that yours is the best of MANY videos I've watched regarding my dryer. You're awesome! Now... my frustration (and forgive me because I'm about to be "that" girl) is that I can't get my back panel off! I've unscrewed everything you can and it comes loose on the top just fine, it's just stuck at the bottom. I think it's being impeded by a little black brackety thing down by the vent hose? Cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get it to let go. HELP?!?!
Thanks for watching, we appreciate you sharing this. These panels can be stubborn at times. Some units will have miscellaneous aluminum plates that are secured on by screws. Behind these plates are additional screws that will need to be removed. Can you easily remove black bracket? This may also free up panel to be removed. Please keep us posted.

Question. I am going to try to fix this myself. I think I can only do it to the coil part. My question is, what is the name of the screwdriver for the hexi size screws and what size. Thank you in advance
Thanks for watching & the coils play a huge role in the lighting process. Replacing coils will get you back up & running. If that doesn’t do it, you will need to replace the thermostat. Believe it or not though, most people replace the thermostat along with the coils because you already have the system apart and the thermostat is a very friendly priced part.
I have a Whirlpool compact front load dryer model WED7500VW that I need to change the start capacitor and do not know how to get to it. Front panel screws are too close to the drum to unscrew and back panel supports the drum. Any ideas?
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. We are unfamiliar with this specific model. We recommend visiting: RepairClinic.com Once at this website, enter in your model number in the search window and all replacement parts should be available. When you click on parts, you will notice video showing you how to work on your exact machine. Keep us posted! Enjoy your night! 😎👍🔧🔩
Something odd about my two coils. You show your 3 wire connector on the front and the two wire connector on the back rod. On mine, it's reversed. My 3 wire is on the back rod and the two wire coil on the front. Never been opened up before. Wonder if it makes any difference? My 2 wire coil is bad. No continuity on that one. The other is fine. On a side note, I guess I should have watched the video first. I pulled the dryer away from the wall and started trying to take the back of it off :-[
Good morning ☕️ thank you for reaching out to us. You’re definitely on the right track, replacing coils should fix issue. Many more helpful videos to come. 👍🧰
Thanks for watching…that’s odd. Did you notice any electrical wiring that may have been moved while you were cleaning your dryer vent? It’s possible that you have a loose electrical connection and while you were cleaning vent, it may have moved ever-so-slightly and created electrical current…leading to parts that create heat working again.
I have that exact model and have been struggling to dry loads sometimes, when it isnt drying I hear a rattling noise that's going on and off, any idea what the issue might be?
Thanks for watching, any update? That could be many things however we can narrow it down to the likely parts that may be causing your issues. 1. Coils 2. Igniter 3. Burner 4. Thermostat Please keep us posted. 👍

Do NOT get those cheap screw in brush cleaning kits! Unless you actually want it to unscrew and be left inside your dryer duct hose. If so, go ahead. Get the push lock kit from Menards or Lowes.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders , I checked all three: the heating element, the thermostat and sensor or cut out switch they are all good. Still doesn't heat up.
@@auletjohnast03638 Thanks for the update. Have you ensured that your dryer hose & vent are clean & clear...not allowing any back flow of exhaust...which trips the system & shuts off heat? 😎👍🔧🔩
