A friend gifted me a leather wrapped glass decanter with depictions of shakespeare and the fuedal world worked into the hide. I put johnnie walker in it because its blended sixteen miles from where macbeth took place, my favorite shakespeare play
Hey Estaban, thank you for sharing, that's a very interesting story and it's that kind of thing that makes decanters interesting, so many people have some story that goes along with them and the reason they have that particular whiskey in the decanter. Cheers and thanks for watching and commenting!
As far as I know P-51 was never a bomber. P-51 Mustangs were WW2 era fighter planes. Bombers used the B-, with WW2 era bombers being B-18 through B-24. B-52s were used in Vietnam, though if any are still used they're probably on transport duty since stealth technology took off.
Decanters are for when I have non experienced drinkers. It makes the inexpensive bottles seem more important. Always amazed when they think it's as good as the expensive bottles next to it. These Guests always gravitate to this when adding to coke on ice. Good fun when it fess up the truth!
Hey Terry, agree the perception is if your Whiskey is being displayed in a nice decanter it must be good, WRONG! It just goes to show you how influential a label can be when tasting Whiskey. I really like mine for putting together an infinity bottle, that's fun as well. Thanks for checking out the video, Happy Holidays!
I am waiting for my whiskey to be done aging, and I made it on my own one more month, and I'll be putting it in a customized to decanter 👌 I've been tasting it once every 2 weeks, and it's becoming more smoother and better
Love a good infinity bottle or personal blend. It will look awesome in a decanter like this. Great quality and is one hell of a conversation piece. Cheers and I hope your blend comes out great!
I like the globe motif on that decanter, and think it's really cool, but there are so many fancy whisky bottles out there that serve beautifully already as decanters for my several infinity blends!
Saaaame, I use two. Mine is a "Mi Familia" Tequila Bottles I use. It's a really nice bottle and didn't want to throw away so I used them as a Decanter for my Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare. :)
Looks really cool. I have a similar one, but the quality is most definitely not up to the mark with that one. I just have 2 decanters, but they're more for decorative purposes. Cheers.
I thought of getting a dekantee for my boyfriend this Christmas. The one with the ship inside. Quite expensive for me since I'm still a student. But... I have read the comments now and a lot of u guys say people with experience don't use a dekanter since the bottle itself is more valuable than the dekanter as it looks better. So my boyfriend has experience... I thought I found a great gift but now I doubt it.. 😔
Its really all about what the presentation it is he'd like and what he fills it with. It really becomes a conversation piece. I don't fill mine with super expensive whiskey but I can tell you o get far more reactions to the decanter than I do an individual bottle of whiskey. Take that for whatever its worth! Happy Holidays! 🥃
nice clip, but may I suggest to be focused on the practicality of, limitations, issues and other options ... things that are important as the buyer, NOT As the REVIEWER of it
Just keep it full of whiskey! At minimum when switching whiskeys, if you feel the need, just rinse with water and allow it to dry first before adding new whiskey. Cheers! 🥃
Will decanter kill my Glenlivet 18yr?? I have 2 Decanters & only put lesser Whiskey in it...because I have some $130-$300 bottles & am scared the air will destroy my scotch 😄😄
@@mybourbonjourney keep it out of sunlight got it! Thank you, I was nervous. I really like that bottle & its something that special to me... so I try not to kill it...you know? I feel comfortable putting it in my nice decanter I bought for it 🥃😎 Some people online said the air can kill your scotch...& that scared the hell out of me...made me think I have to rush my scotch!
Nope definitely don't rush it, there are some extremely old scotches out there, by keeping it out of the sun and not an overly warm area it will be VERY good for a long time. Cheers!
Thanks Mike, I try to make it something special that's for sure. Other wise its just Whiskey in a bottle. I keep a special Whiskey in mine so when I share it and people are it, it makes for great conversation. Cheers and Happy Holidays!
This looks great! However I don't really see the point of decanting a whisky unless you want to polish off the entire bottle in one go. Do you have other experiences with decanters?
Cheers! Its nothing like decanting wine, your whiskey doesn't need to be consumed even remotely that fast before the flavor begins to decline. The point of having a Whiskey decanter is A. To display your Whiskey in a nice display bottle and B. To create a conversation piece. Having your open Whiskey in a decanter vs an open bottle really isn't any different, it's just how or why you're displaying your Whiskey. Don't hesitate to get one, I have a special Whiskey I poured into mine, each time i pour it, it reminds me of that special occasion! Happy Holidays!
Hey Pnda it can absolutely replace the bottle, the whiskey can sit in there as long as it would normally do in the bottle. These are top notch Decanters too. Cheers!
