Whiskey Del Bac "Dorado" Mesquite Smoked Single Malt Review 

Del Bac is my favorite Distillery in AZ, and is easily the best. Their special releases are incredible! The owners/distillers are soo nice

You're a week late! I just moved to Arizona and decided to grab this bottle 7 days ago, but there was no dedicated review to taste along with. MELON! That's what I couldn't pick out that was bugging me. To me, the mesquite quality is more like I've smashed a bottle of mesquite liquid smoke in the garage the previous day, rather than actively mesquite-smoking something and walking into the cloud of smoke.

Every time I hear tobacco I think of tobacco leaf. We would go down to Georgia from Michigan once a year to visit my stepdad’s family. They would have leaves drying in the barn. It smelled wonderful.

It’s funny because I smoked both cigarettes and pipes for nearly 20 years. I rarely and I mean Rarely ever get the Tobacco note people talk about often. Not that they are wrong there is no right or wrong but I do find it overused especially on bottles. And on that note June 14th was my 5 year anniversary from quitting all smoking.

We did a review on this about a year ago or so and love it! The mesquite adds some interesting "grilled" flavor. It works well with this whiskey.

You guys have have Dorado before, pretty sure. But this is the big time rebrand, it's available in Texas now though. The search tells me you did a winter release vs dorado comparison five years ago haha. Also, did a Rare Whiskey Friday with four things from Patrick El Hombre, it was a pick of Dorado. But not a standalone video, guessing since it's now wider release it deserves a solo video!

Aha! Been waiting for this one. I bought an old bottle of the Classic (unsmoked) and it's fantastic. I'm still hesitant on smoky flavors so...wondering how I'd do with this one.

Love Dorado. It also makes killer eggnog.

My grandma who smoked heavily used to make her own cigarettes like that to save money. She had this tool you could hand fill one cigarette at a time with, so my grandfather would sit there with this big pile of tobacco, making one cigarette at at time until the tin was empty. Yeah he was whipped lol. I am very familiar with that smell.

Have you guys tried joe barr blended whiskey ? It’s a favorite of mine and would love to hear what you guys say, esp on the blended aspect.

This is in my top 5 favs. I feel like im liking mesquite charcoal. There is another version that is mesquite but its clear. Not good.

I feel so hip right now, I have the last few ounces of a Del Bac Dorado 2016 NCF Batch MS2016-5. I like the old flask style bottle better, the current style is common and boring.

Mesquite is also known for having a dark raisiny molasses flavor when I taste it I taste that fruity note
