My aunt just was in Alaska and went through Vancouver and took a Helicopter to a glacier during the trip. I like this area and need to explore the north more.
Among the many things that I enjoy about your presentations, Chris, is the fact that when you come up with a great destination you tend to explore it in detail from many different angles. I’ve never been to Whistler but watching your videos I already feel like I know the place well, or at least know what to expect when I get there. A great presentation, as always, Chris. Thanks for sharing.
Important things to add to this: 1. The chair lift to the top of whistler mountain closes at 5pm so plan to go early and dress for extremely strong and chilly winds at the top. The top of the whistler mountain was the best and for the steep ticket prices we regretted not being able to experience the whole area for longer it was stunning but even the wind chill felt like 2-5 degrees at the mountain top on a hot sunny day. Take extra caution if taking children, might be height restrictions to the chair lift! 2. As of 2023 the gondola price has currently increased to $94/adult for the day or $145 seasonal pass from May to Sep. You have the option of paying the difference by the end of the day or the following morning to upgrade to the season pass.
Whistler is also one of the gateways into the spectacular Garibaldi Provincial Park. We love to backpack into the park from Whistler village, and usually just take a bus from Vancouver up there so we don't have to concern ourselves with parking. Great times!
My favorite part of the video is the Sea to Sky Gondola and all the things to do up there. Hiking is really our thing so we'd love that mountain with Panorama Trail and the other trails, too! Whistler looks majestic!!
I live near Vancouver and just went on the Sea to Sky Gondola for the first time last week. I would agree with your opinion. We ended up getting a yearly pass because we liked it enough to want to go a few more times. Also never being there before we were not really equipped to hike the trails. Thanks for the tips on Whistler village. A trip up there for fun is in order.
Hi Chris, we’re heading to Whistler this spring break end of March, my two teenage boys love to snowboard 🏂 🏂, me & hubby loves to ski ⛷️ ⛷️. Thanks Chris, 💜 your channel‼️
I really like that there are many scenic gondolas and hikes there! I didn't realize how far Whistler is from Vancouver in terms of driving time. I definitely can see me renting a car when I would go there. That will be a plus too if I want to see other things along the way especially with how amazing that drive is. Thanks for the video! I'll keep these tips in mind for when I finally get to go there!
Wedgemount Lake is an epic hike next to Whistler. Lake views are amazing in summer and camping is available. You can do it in 1 day. It takes an average person 3 hours to hike up. It gets you access to several mountain peaks for mountaineers.
Great video! So beautiful there. Great series. Spunky princess is adorable! You both had me stressing when you were going over that bridge ! 😂 Hey Chris can you please remind me what sneakers you wear? I want to try them for my upcoming trip to Ireland. Thanks!
You need to visit Rimrock Cafe. Best restaurant in whistler hands down. We also loved Il camenito their lobster pasta was incredible. For more simple food try hunter gather and cafe artigano for great coffee. Last time we went to whistler in august we hated old spaghetti. As we’re from Vancouver it’s a chain restaurant which we don’t usually eat here. We also went to the Scandinavian spa and it was so worth it but not family friendly.
Chris have you ever thought about also mentioning everything not do to when you visit the place? Just a thought.😄 So many cool places to go. 🤠And I am glad to see it from your videos as I can't travel. And to learn about new things. I appreciate that. 😊
I think the Spunky Princess was a little bit occupied, and I'm sure once the Spunky Princess enters any shoe store on either side of the US/Canadian border, she has the pick of the litter of yellow shoes. 😁
1. It's ridiculously expensive. 2. It's over crowded. 3. You have to queue to get in anywhere at any time. 4. It's ridiculously expensive. 5. The morning lift lines are a joke. 6. It's ridiculously expensive. 7. It's over crowded. 8. its ridiculously expensive
Do you how is the access from the airport to the Mountains? I am concerning about the driving during winter time. I would love to visit there on December.
