If u bought this scanner at a garage sale, how do you CLEAR all the banks, were there's nothing programmed in any of them. (If that makes sense), or do the banks have to have something programmed in them. Obviously I know nothing about scanners.
@@brianshanahan3878 Disappointed. Audio sounds like it's coming from a tin can, needs more midrange or bass, and for some reason when It's connected to the line in of the pc, there is a lot of line noise, something not grounded, so really couldn't use it for the purpose I bought it. Uniden much better quality. Used it for about a week and gave up. Been sitting unused now for 4 1/2 years.
Since Whistler owns the old GRE scanner company it looks like to me that the WS1025 is a remake of the Radio Shack Pro-2004 (which GRE made in the early 90's. The display panel is the same one. Look up a Pro-2004 scanner & tell me I'm wrong. Like I said it is made by the same company, some 30 yrs apart.
I have pro 2004 with some problems on keyboard... You're right, I bought the whistler because it uses the same display and partly the same programming logic as the pro 2004... Yes, the whistler is a modern child of the Realistic!!
@@mauriziolored6123 Actually GRE Electronics made the Pro 2004 for RS. Whistler bought GRE Electronics in 2007 when they went bankruptcy, which gave Whistler every right to reuse any designs & patents GRE had. The WS1065 is a clone of GRE's Pro-197 that they made for RS.
christomight - no, you can program any frequency you want, provided it’s covered in the range of the scanner, this scanner is Bottom of the Barrel for Whistler, so it has missing gaps in coverage. Check Universal Radio for frequency range.
