Thank you for the tip. I didn't have that WD-40 on hand but I took apart the top faucet assembly. There were two black lines coming into a brass piece. One was the (1/4"?) line coming out of the water filter and into the faucet, and the other side was the 3/4" black line that drains to the piping below. It looked like the smaller line went through a small brass loop which then dumped into the 3/4" black line. It was filled with gunk. I cleaned it out. I'll probably replace the main filter to be safe now

I know this is an older video but Thank you for this. I have the same one as yours and Mine is now two years old so I knew it wasn’t anything with the whole system. This was helpful I will try this.

I know this is an older video but I'm sure someone else will run into this issue like me. My issue was not on the drain tube end attached to the faucet, but instead it was into the disposal drain area. I pulled out this drain tube and used a small pipe cleaner because the hole on the inside of that is very small, I mean smaller than a pencil. Anyway I just scrubbed it a little and my issue went away. I believe something was caught partially blocking it, who knows. But my issue is resolved. With that being said, it's possible the pressure in the tank system is too high and the water is draining at a higher pressure than that little hole can handle, causing it to backup slightly into the tube causing the noise. Water is consistently draining down there and even more so when you run the water.

You are correct out of the five causing issues that I know of. clogged disposal tube, calsification , filters can cause this , pressure set wrong, vent tube obstruction, and I am sure there are many more... Works for me and God bless 😇

I am glad this worked for you. It did not work for me. It is a simple fix. Replace the stem unit in the faucet. Remove the handle and take the faucet stem unit out and for $10.00 your problem is solved. 15 minutes of work after you get the stem unit.

I pulled the vent tube off of the filter end (there is a tube release fitting on the hose it looks like a washer just push it in while pulling the hose it will come out easy) and I blew air through with my mouth, it seems to be working fine now,

Replace your 4-Way Automatic Shut-Off Valve. The diaphragm inside the valve must be stuck or damaged. You might want to open it and clean it, that might fix the problem as well.

No need WD40. I had an air can duster and after a few shots, it cleared up perfectly. It's just clogged so the air pushed it right out.

I couldn't find any WD-40 in the house, I know I had some, but took too long to find it. The same hole you had issue with the whistling, my system was hissing, sounded like a tire slowly deflating but with water covering the hole. I literally put my mouth over the hole and blew air into the hole and it stoped "hissing" and making that annoying noise that went on for a whole day and half. Maybe it only worked for me .. but maybe might work for someone else too before you spray any chemicals into the hole. Give it a shot. If you cant reach the hole, try using a straw or plastic coffee stirrer that you can use like a straw and blow air into the hole.

Just try compressed air next time. I believe it was the pressure and not the chemical that cleared your lines..

100 % pure silicone spray should be used ... the listed silicone wd -40 penetrate in the video or any 100% silicone spray .. also check your excess line or over flow line at the garbage disposal ... it may be clogged 😇

Careful doing this because that hole is an Air- Gap for the waste line on the filter. Spraying stuff inside it with the unit connected is probably a bad idea unless you want to drink wd40.

Find your user manual online for your type of system of what filters and time you need to change them. Some systems you have a battery that must be removed and then removed from that piece to zero out circuit board memory. Quoc T The faucet has a battery that not only does it provide power for the blue/red light, but every time you take the battery out (de-energizing the light), and putting the battery back in, it resets the automatic timer to make it turn red every time you turn the water on six months later, to remind you that six months is up to replace your filter(s). In my household, there’s 2 adults; I think these filters can last twice as long since these are probably designed to filter water for a household of 4 or more people for a six month period, since an average household has 3-4 people.

your clearing the ventilation for the excess drain tube witch gets blocked with calcification... H2O pure recommends to replace unit when this occurs ....I just could not do that when I just installed it within a little over a year.... Some people have had luck with canned air and isopropyl alcohol also. Works for me God bless😇

So wd40 is going to do nothing don’t listen to the people on the internet. Most likely my guess is take the end cap off the faucet and pop the insert underneath is a really really small gasket my guess is it’s getting pinched and making a whistling noise. Either replace the gasket or but a new end cap or the insert I’d you want to swap it out and problem solved

CLR doesn’t damage any parts. I had the same problem as you. I shut the water off, made sure the drain line wasn’t clogged, sprayed CLR into the hole that looks like a key hole a few times, let it soak for 30 mins, then sprayed regular WD-40 into the same hole and turned the water back on. It stopped the leak. The valve that’s in there is a one-way valve that allows air to enter, but doesn’t allow air or water to exit; this is what allows water to completely drain out of the white hose, as this water filter unit sacrifices some tap water to make clean water. As with car parts, WD-40 does an amazing job in cleaning parts more than lubrication, although in this case it does both: clean and lubricate the valve. I find it unnecessary to have this valve or hole on the side of the unit. Maybe, in the future, if this problem persists, I may try permanently sealing this hole with epoxy.

I had hard water build up nearly plugging the hole so it whistled. I just took a blade and careful not to scratch finish, opened up the hole. Also used some thin stiff wire I put a tiny hook on to clean out hole, could use tiny screw but don't lose it. WD40 as some say may work and likely it is only venting to the drain not clean water but if one comment is right and they linked it, you could poison your water if the drain backs up. Do not cover the air gap, it does a job is my guess. Running less pressure through the shutoff valve makes better water and less noisy but slower to filter (ok as long as not too little pressure).

I called my faucet provider they told me the best thing I can do is buy a whole new unit (my unit was one year old) and yes the noise will drive you up the wall. works for me - God bless

Thank you. I didn't have any WD 40 so I took The Works toilet bowl cleaner on a q tip and swabbed it. It stopped. For now. Thought I'd share to help someone one.

Great share.. just remember most toilet bowl cleaner will eat chrome and low grade stainless leaving spots on these units .. wipe of excess .. works for you God bless
