That's what I like about professional plumbers. They come in, do the job and leave. Then you go on with your life. Do I hate plumbing? Yes I do! Do I love Plumbers? Yes I do! Thank you for your service!
These kinds of tips are why I love your vids, Steve. I would have never thought a sound like that would be coming from the lavatory hose bibb when you flush the toilet, especially not the hot side. Thanks for posting, your vids are always informative.
That was funny, when i was a young girl, my parents had a similar issue, but that was air . We played with the faucet and let some water fun, just to hear the sound My dad a d a few neighbors changed the faucet and the pipe. The pipe had a crack. Thats all , i remember.
I always wear the gloves also, Smart. You seem to be like me a person who always does his best at doing the job right and complete. I admire your commitment, and tenacity to always doing the the job Right for the customer. After 20 years in the field I still look to you and others to learn more, and I thank you, and ALL for the VIDEOS. Thank you ALL
Love your videos, learned a lot, bit envious we don't have plumbers where I am that are honest and do the job that is needed instead of trying to rip people off....lol have been with out hot water since Christmas of 2016. The plumbers could not find the leak and I have to keep turning the hot water off and on from out side when we want to shower or the meter on the outside keeps spinning and wasting water by the gallons as it spins even when the water is shut off from the gas hot water system. It's a pain going out side and turning it off and on. I have no hot water going to the kitchen all day long every day. They came in with some equipment to find where the pipes are leaking, and they wanted 300 to tell me they could not find it....they took 133 our of my credit card after telling me they did not know where the problem was. This is an old house and they think the pipes are running under the foundations (concrete) back in the 50 or 60 that is what they used to do in Australia I guess. To replace all with new pipes they said it would cost between 4 and 5 thousand dollars....Looks like I will be with out hot water in my kitchen till the day I die.....lol My water bill was 390 dollars before knowing that turning the tap off at the gas hot water system would at least stop the outside meter spinning like crazy wasting water, god only knows where it was going....my previous bills were between 95 to 133 a month....it took me 3 lots of arranged payments to pay the water authority off. I am so pissed off with plumbers, I have never had one come out that was honest. You sir are a credit to the industry. Wish we had someone like you where I live.
I sure learn a lot from your videos, especially your plumbing videos. I've been in the HVAC industry since 1980. I regret never working for a company that did plumbing as well as AC. I'm looking into what it would take to supplement my Nevada HVAC Contractors License with a plumbing license. By The Way; You and Ralph are SUPER TECHS!
You took all of the fun out of the bathroom for the kids! I had a good laugh though with the boat coming into port sounds. I knew the problem had to do with the condition of a valve, but was surprised at the culprit being the hot shutoff for the sink, when the toilet would also trigger it to happen.
Hey Steve, Your video looked exactly like my set up right down to the broken apart washer. Without this video, I would not have known what to do. You saved me a plumber expense. The only down side is dealing with the lack of help at Home Dopey to find the washer! LOL Thank you!
our company sell the water pipe clean machine which use the CACS technology and high-frequency impulse methond , you can clean yr own house water pipe, and you can also help other families clean the water pipe, and charge RMB 500/ each time, pls send mail to me : 842002495@qq.com, or weixin: shakira_yn, or skype: +8615160062820
My bathroom shut off valve is doing this must need a washer inside it .. making that big noise . amazing how just a rubber washer can make all that noise ... thanks for sharing
I have faucets in both my bathrooms that use the ceramic cartridges. They work well and last for years but the drawback is that there is really no maintenance that you can do to them. Once they start leaking your only option is to replace the cartridge. Since the cartridge is specific to the faucet manufacturer there is no standardization to them. The old fashioned washer and seat is much easier to find parts for normally.
When I'm using my shower faucet I hear very desturbing banging noise, like somebody forcefully knocking on my door before water running. Can you please tell me what could be a problem. Thanks in advance. BTW, I wear the gloves all the time if I have them handy if not, I will continue to work, no matter what. Thanks
I think you videos are great. Maybe you can answer a quick question. Can I put a garbage disposal on my sink if it's not on the main septic? It's on a separate smaller grease trap.
Matthew Martinez i would not put a garbage disposal into a grease trap .. not sure you saving it right .a grease trap catches grease and has to be clean from time to time .. usally found in a commerial job on a 3 bay sink in a kitchen .
what would you say would cause loud wooshing noise from pipes when the water runs? I haven't put a guage on it but my water pressure seems pretty high. any suggestions on things to check?
If you have high pressure than so does your neighbors ,ask them. then call the water company as there are regulator valves every so often down the street. For the wooshing noise I think I replaced a certain faucet ,I can`t remember it was a long time ago.
Great video, Do you install the pop up stopper so it can be removed or non-removable? I like my at my house where you can take it out to clean. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Steven! Thank you very much for making this video! If you would be so kind I have a question. What keywords should I search to try to solve a problem where my sink's water pipe creates a continuous high pitched running water sound even though no water is running? I've searched for several hours with no success.
Steven Buri change the shutoff ,supply and faucet and your noise will go away it one of them 3 things causing the problem i would start with the faucet.shut the water off and take the shutoff apart check to see if the washer is loose .or not open all the way sometimes the water supply gets filled with crust sediment like hard barnicles .just replace the water supply .tube .
I was wondering how the washer could fall off but see they don't use a screw anymore, I had the same problem with my faucet where the replacement valve cost more than a new faucet, I tried to cut my drain out with a vibrating multi tool and the vibration caused it to shake loose before I could cut halfway thru it
Yep this is the sound we had coming from our tap upstairs .very very annoying. when it was fixed the plumber told us it was the tap spindle that was worn.
sir I've been looking for similar videos to figure out a crazy noise from my bathroom. it's not too much quite like your but randomly through out the day and night I get a "drilling or jackhammer" noise in my walls. in the bathroom. and I feel te vibrations on the wall. it's random all day and last from 5 seconds to 3 minutes. it doesn't matter if I'm running water or not. I live in an apartment complex and stayed up from 5am to 5am just to test to see if it was something to do with others running water and it's not. have you ever experienced such a thing?
I had same problem in my house,I change water tank fill valve of the toilet, my problem is fixed.so it is due to slight leakage of water through faucet/tap.
steven lavimoniere where do you pick up a box of washers like you had? I have 11 angle stops ( and they aren’t all from one maker) in my house and I’m lucky if 3-4 of them work to shut off water completely at their fixture.
I had the same problem. I too replaced the valves it still made the noise. I took the Aerator off and it stopped making the noise. I soaked the aerator in C.L.R. Over night and problem solved. $35.00 for valves $5.00 for CLR at Lowe’s hardware store. Removing the aerator I used a large pair of pliers I wrapped tape around the teeth to not scratch the finish and turned it from right to left remember it is upside down. Either way would have fixed the problem checking the aerator first to see if that verified the problem at least you know.
hey steven, I don't have this issue like a train horn or something but I have something with kitchen faucet recently that makes a weird noise not as loud as that or close to that but only makes noise when not turned on.when I turn the water on using it the noise disappears do you know what that might be?
seanxke sounds like thats the spray divera kicking in ,, some cheap k.s. faucets will do that its had to tell over a email unless i am there to hear it
steven lavimoniere ok thanks and now I do not hear it is a bizarre situation. I guess it makes noise sometimes for a bit when no water is turned on turning the knob. But then like i said then there is no noise when I also turn the water on very weird
Nicholas CeeA sounds like you need a new outside sill faucet . sometimes .its the shutoff in basement to outside sill faucet with a loose washer ,check that first . remove bonnet and see if screw or washer is loose
It seemed to be the screw-on vacuum breakers causing it, especially when flowing the hoses at low volumes. One in the front, one in the back, different pipes and shutoffs. I drilled the set screws out and removed them. No more elephants.
Why wouldnt u replace the angle stop especially one of that age instead of trying to match up the washers and taking the risk of it seizing up in a year or so like most angle stops
I'm getting a new old fashioned style bathroom fited for my shower room and main bathroom and is due on the 23rd of December so yeah that's something plus they gonna makey cupboard into a shower all it needs is extending and then I'll get the shower.
