Damn Nate, you made my mouth water at the end there with that clip of that duck and mushrooms! First time I've seen a whistler hunt like that on RU-vid, throughly enjoyed it!
Nice hunt! I used to hunt the Pecan Island area and my buddies would laugh at me cause I would sleep in and got and shoot my 6 tree ducks in about 30 mins and be back at the camp before them. Great eating birds. Miss those days!
I have seen them but never had the opportunity to take any of them. They land on the sod farm that supplies tuff to the NFL here. They like that short grass. What do you coat the mushroom in. How do you do them?
Those are some incredibly-tasty and big ducks.Dropped three few hunts ago but only retrieved one and on that hunt managed three fine greys.Older son put both on his pellet-fired smoker and i took both ducks down to a buddy's camp in Venice and the tree duck was much better than the grey duck!!Used to have HUGE flocks of those tree ducks but they are now flying about 10 min PRIOR to legal shooting!!
That is so funny the footage to see them long feet hanging out the back ! What a tree duck beat down ! Awsome Nate great hunt ! Your one of my favorites to watch on RU-vid !
Way to go, I got bad service and can just see the thumbnail. They mostly left CenLa where I'm at after teal season but had one buzz the blind high yesterday. Them southLA fellas say they taste as every bit the same as wood ducks, You of that belief?
