Ringnecks get a bad rap, but a good ringer shoot in my opinion just can't be beat. The sound of those wings when they cut into the wind is like an F-16 jet.
You are a hunter brother. The days of multiple limits are few and far. A lot of duck hunting is scouting. At the end of the day, being out in the field is what matters most. And believe me, I watch your stuff because you put in the time and make the most of what you got. I live a lot of my duck hunting through you and I appreciate you taking me on your journey!
Love the videos tough season for a lot of places weather up in Minnesota for next week are in the 40s birds just didn't need to move Mississippi River up here has thousands of birds still holding on it.
Ringers were one of the species we did used to get down here in Florida pretty good. Plucked, with the skin left on. Covered in bacon strips breast side up. Slow roasted over real low heat. Mashed potatoes and gravy. That's a solid dinner right there. All drakes is a good challenge. I hope next season is a good one for you.
Congrats, on the banded ring neck. I shot one this year on January 6 in Klondike, it was banded in August of 2023 at Perch Lake in Minnesota and was too young to fly at the time of banding. Great hunt.
Nate, I enjoy all your videos. I know you love duck hunting, perhaps more than any other type of hunting, but you put out good content no matter what! Be Safe Brother, and God Bless!
I religiously target divers in California and I’ve never seen one banded with my own eyes although I have seen a few online, I rareeely go after puddle ducks as it’s so expensive in my area and I’ve killed one and been on multiple hunts with them killed not even to mention all the puddle duck bands I see reported through Facebook in my are.I can only speak for myself but I think diver duck bands are far more rare than most other puddle duck species and it’s a dream of mine to get one ( mainly a buffer head or a common merganser because I think it’d be cool
That looked like a fun hunt! Banded divers are very rare. I was lucky enough to shoot a double banded Hooded merganser and my dad got banded canvasback. Both were shot almost 25 years ago.
I love you just hunt, and a duck is a duck. I cant watch the ones that are mallards only, i would be great if i never got a greenhead again, i like variety. 😊
