Homemade Pita Bread Recipe
Ingredients
• 500 grams All-purpose flour (maida) 500 grams + 2-3 tbsp extra if needed
• Luke warm water 1 cup
• Instant yeast 2.5 tsp
• Sugar 1 tbsp
• Oil 1 tbsp
• Salt 1 tsp
• Yogurt 1/2 cup at room temperature
• Egg 1, large size, at room temperature (or substitute the egg by adding 1/4 cup more yogurt)
Plain White Breakfast Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
• Luke warm water 1cup + 3/4 cup
• Instant yeast 2 + 1/4 tsp
• Granulated Sugar 1/8 cup
• Unsalted Butter 1.5 tbsp, at room temperature
• All-purpose flour (maida) 4 cups + 1 cup extra (if needed)
• Salt 1/2 tbsp
• Unsalted Butter 2-3 tbsp, melted for brushing
Preheat Temperature: Lower rods, 200*F, 20 minutes
Baking: Lower Rods, 200*F, 30-35 minutes
To make the top golden brown: Turn off lower rods, turn on upper rods at 200*F and heat for 5 minutes or less (until you get color of your choice)
