White City Stadium, Old Trafford, Manchester

Thank you Russ for replying, I do appreciate it very much, Manchester has changed a lot since I last went home in 1980. White city stadium was still going at that time and thought they would fix it up and keep it going, but like i said no one wants to spend the money to do it they Just tear it down and forget what it means to some people. anyhow thanks again for posting I have it in my favorites now.

Fantastic video ..i spent some of the happiest days of my life as a teenager with my brother at the afternoon b.a.g.s. greyhound meetings between 1978 and 1981 (those were the last 3 years of greyhound racing at the track )..it had the most wonderful atmosphere and in the summer the track itself looked like a new green carpet ..i actually much preferred it to the better known and historic belle vue which held the very first greyhound race in 1926 ....i've spent 30 +years searching for any kind of memorabilia of the greyhound stadium with some small success but it is very hard to find .so if anyone reading this happens to have anything comnected to manchester white city greyhound stadium please reply anytime ....i did actually go back to have a look at the retail park one day a few years ago ..honestly seeing where such beauty once stood to seeing that was pretty sad to say the least !....many thanks for the video

Went to this stadium back in the day to watch the motorcycle stunt rider Eddie Kidd - think in was in '77/78 ...........good times

I live around the corner from White City and its a shame all that's there now is a bunch of shops and not places like this.

Very sad to see this great track in such a way. Had many a good night there watching greyhounds. Excellent track.

great video bring's back many happy memories for me when I was a young lad. me and my dad went to many stock car meetings there during the 1970's before we moved to canada. it'a a shame on what happened to the stadium but that's what happens when the council doesnt look after things and goes into wreck and ruin. do you have the rest of this special if so could you please post it.

Wasn't there also another White City Stadium at Shepherds Bush, London? @. I think it closed around 1970.

The Wembley of the North. That label has been attached to well over a dozen stadiums north of Watford since 1923.

Wasnt White City in Old Trafford.. How can the Cricket Ground and Mufc be called O/t when they are quarter mile away??
