Geno, is discharge safe to work with and cure in a garage setting? I can open the door and crack the garage door to allow ventilation but beyond that its a closed space with no exhaust options obviously. -- My main goal is achieve little to no hand on my garments vs even how a single or double pass of plastisol might feel through a high mesh, but Im limited in many ways as Im printing in my garage and still only have a IR flash to cure with... Would water based ink be a better option in my case vs discharge?
Ah. I run into that all the time- we have been just throwing in a Bella canvas or next level shirt as a sample- as a way to up sell for the next order...it works, once they wear the ring spin soft shirts 8 out of 10 customers order some on the next order...good luck on the jerzee dri-power, it's a great shirt. The local schools love it- lots of color options
Do you charge a higher service fee when printing on nicer garments such as B+C or Next Level? Naturally the shirts themselves cost most, but do you up your printing prices too? Just wondering. I'm still working out my fees! (Super new to all this.)
Definitely! It takes longer to mix the inks...plus the cups to mix the inks in...clean up team...discharge is messier...so we do charge more...we did not at first but the more we printed with discharge the more i learned that we should charge more...because of the time and cost...vs plastisol ink ready to print right out of the bucket...
Learn How To Screen Print T-shirts it’s a brand based in UK called continental clothing. Brushed cotton, very high quality garments. I was just worried that because there is 20% POLY the design would be really faded when discharged on a dark colour like navy... what do you think?
Depends on the brand of ink your using- and the weight- the amount/ratio we used was figured by weight with the brand of discharge ink we used. Check the specs of the brand your using from the manufacturers website.
