@@leadfarmer73 Yes. The simplicity is very appealing. You just have to be strong enough to get the poles where they belong in their pockets on the floor. That, and a flat spot with a 20-foot radius, which is relatively rare where I go. There are smaller tents that use the same center-pole idea. Very simple, reliable, and relatively light. Seems like it'd have advantages for pack outfitters or rafters, because there's only a couple-few poles.
White Duck tents are really good! We moved onto our property 14 months ago. We or others have lived in the tent on the homestead constantly since then. 50 plus mile an hour wind, 100 plus and below zero Temps and snow. It's still standing, the only issue is the zippers do not zip any longer. That is most likely due to constant use for over a year as well as possibly having the tent to tight. Good video!
We had a bell tent we lived in as well. Our zipper gave out . Bought a heavy duty zipper and replaced old one. Why would they skimp on the most used part of the tent?
I really appreciate how you took the time to describe in each step of set up what and how and why to do it properly, I have a tbi and reading tent directions even with pictures has been something I have gotten so discouraged with that I continue to buy tents and can't get the maximum benefits of them, I've seen a lot of alternative housing using these tents and was looking online, your video gave me the inspiration and empowerment to take the chance to experience this, so thank you. Sometimes when we don't have physical support I believe that it's to open up to opportunities to allow the building of self through other people's support in sharing their experiences and shifting from a discouraging place to a curious will to discover kind of adventure, but from a place of ease and appreciation for the journey. Where there is a will there is a way and that was the thing that I had lost in the process so thanks for sharing your adventures and helping me to change my perceptions.
Excellent job, avalon is top of the line then the regatta with whiteduck. Another good canvas tent is pomoly. Heads up, always have a fireproof mat under your stove. The floor will melt if any embers fall on it. When shtf don't panic if the you loose the poles, take some paracord, measure the pole and keep that in your tgb with a tennis ball cut in half(cut a branch and put the tennis ball halfs on each end.
I haven't been a heavy camper in over a decade; not since I was a Boy Scout in high school. About 3-4 months ago, I watched this video and it inspired me to build a similar setup so I can get back outside. Since then, I have rewatched this video several times while assembling my gear and planning. I'm taking my gear out on my first trip in the next two weeks. Wish me luck! I hope to bring your spirit with me, as well. Keep doing what you do and keep inspiring people to live!
The fact that you staked that tent to the ground right through the ground tarp was AWESOME!!! I have seen others put up a tent then flop down a ground tarp inside, I like your way much better
Nothing wrong in being absolutely joyful of your new investment there bud. Thank's for your time & video. , now you have a place on those "dog house days " when your wife becomes little radical. 😉
That's a really nice tent for long term use! Years ago when I used to go hunting in the winter, we'd set up a tent for myself to last the season. I took pallets and set them out. Then, we screwed down plywood to create a solid floor. After that, we set up the canvas tent to get it up off the ground. Mine wasn't this big, but it worked like a charm. This tent is huge... I would opt for a smaller version for myself and my pup, but these are high quality tents. Thanks for the demo!
I want to thank you for your video. The very first time to see a black man camping. I have been waiting for one. It’s so refreshing to watch. Again thank you…thoroughly enjoyed it sir.
Those big bell tents are really cool. When you look at tents I really like these. I liked them before you did a video on them. Couple of points; You can get 1 by 2s from like a Home Depot or lose to brace against the center pole with duct tape to protect the center pole from stress. And you want to do this because of WIND. When it gets windy all the stress is against that center pole. A couple of these around the pole with duct tape if you are camping for awhile will feel better to strengthen it. Some makers for these bell tents people adjust extra seams near the tent entrance also to prevent water coming in when it rains also. Overall they are very good tents there's a number of makers that have them. I just love how awesome they are.
You did a great job explaining each step on how to put it together, thank you, would like to get one myself,,, it did look huge, plenty of room to live in
@@JamericaLife that telegram person was not me that was a scammer that you spoke to. I suggest you get was you can afford. I really like both but this white duck is hitting all of the right button for me. It wins hands down in the looks categories
This is really helpful...I bought the 16' version about a year ago; moved & got too busy last summer to use it; haven't even opened the box...! My buddy told me that the White Duck was a quality tent, & I wouldn't be sorry if I bought one; he wasn't kidding!
Whew, this brought back memories. Like a GP Small from back in the day. Excellent job setting it up. Can definitely be comfy in there. Stay safe and TFS.
Brother!!! I am always so happy to see you succeeding! You and your family are truly Blessed Man of The True God. I Love All you do! Thank you for the content!
Jeez man you have literally every piece of gear that I dream of down to the heat powered stove fan. You’re really out here doing it. So awesome, I love it!
Another fellow I watched used a welder's blanket on the floor to protect against coals from the stove hitting the floor. Seemed clever. Good job putting up the tent.
Yesss that White Duck bell tent is nice nice. I need to get me some tennis balls for my camp stove😆. And the Amber restrictor / Rain cap. 😊Thank you for sharing Fam. I’m so excited for this coming weekend
YOU DID THAT!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 I love it! you definitely are your own construction company! Lol Thank you for sharing Brother Lead 🙏🏽 🌱💜 always inspiring the masses
Hey man, that was an amazing video. As more and more Americans are being forced out of renting with ever increasing costs, vids like this show me I still can make - and maybe even regain the spiritual things we lost being victims of the system. Keep on giving positive vibes!!
After watching this i decided to buy this tent🎉 I noticed you put tennis balls on the stove feet to protect the floor🤔 excellent instructional video. 🎥
Much love. Your help and guides support the world and feed minds with growth and new found wisdom. Continue documenting your life and projects that support the living ❤🙏
Your yard is beautiful i bet its spectacular in full bloom , that tent is massive did you decorate the interior completely , when your BEES woke up they probably thought they found paradise with that massive structure at their front door 🐝🐝🐝🐝 !!!
First time viewer and what a great video. Your enthusiasm is contagious, now I want to get one for deer season - and I even own a small camper! It looks like adventure to me. There are other channels out there and you mentioned one during the video, and I can't even watch him anymore. Thank you for this fresh take on a great subject!
A separate space for the stove & bed would be ideal. Stay warmer when you need to & not have to heat that entire space all the time. Rigg something up like a canvas sliding curtain to create a bedroom wall, ya know.
Nice, you're livin' large, brother! Wife and I sold our canvas wall tent in favor of a 16-foot bell tent, and kept our cylinder stove like yours. The bell is a great design and so much simpler to pitch than the wall tent. Great vid, thanks for sharing! New sub here!
Outstanding young fella. Go ahead with your culinary bad self. The whippy buck was a good touch. I'll be putting ours up shortly. We'll be using a parachute for a fly.
Absolutely amazing. Perfect setup. You made it look so easy. That would be PLENTY of room for me and my partner. He'd love it. Thanks for sharing. Gotta get our camp gear budget together!!! Lol. God bless!!
Can you put that thing up on. It’s really a beautiful tent. Thank you for this video. What you did was make people who might be intimidated to put something that big together by themselves realize it’s nothing to be afraid of.
I loved the video what a great looking tent you look like a person I could befriend and do some cooking camping trips I miss camping with my mates when we were in our teens we had such a laugh I camp now but I'd feel a really doing it on my own
