We all love you. Just be you and we are there for ya! Your pick’en is insane, liddle-girl. (I’m over 70 so that comment is ok, wanna pull my finger?) we are blessed by you. Simple true fact.
I'm always amazed at the stupidity shown by people claiming Tommy is human for playing with lesser mortals. Molly Tuttle is a world-class flat picker and a gifted singer, in a way Tommy will never be. He realises this and values her all the more for it. Pity you lot don't. You've all become so obsessed with one player that you no longer see other talent.
@@biggerissues6085 Kinda general bashing you are puking up here- what evidence do you have of all these mass "you've all become so obsessed" ills you speak of? I think they are both wonderful.. Is that O.K.? "Tommy plays with all kinds of different artists" offends you? Perhaps you might consider taking the advice of the late great Robin Williams and learn how to "auto felicitate" so you don't burst a artery. I am going to pray for you tonight. God Bless.
@@shaunfogarty5744 WTF are you actually talking about? That was just a badly thought rant. I think you need to pray for yourself. Not that even God can sort your rambling.
Tommy thinks out of the box in every way from his compositions to his collaborations to his covers. So glad he is still riding his wave as we grow old together.
Tommy's backup vocals are spot on. His voice brings an accentuation to Molly's in a very complimentary way. This stuff is the ho-down cream of the crop. ✅🎶💚
Saw Tommy and Molly play this live in Exeter, Devon last night (10.01.24). They are absolutely incredible playing together! Both natural-born performers!
I saw them two nights ago 03.22.29 and she was about 7 months pregnant and Tommy had lost several fingers in a gardening accident, fortunately it was his right hand! 😄
He is phenomenal. Saw him with Jerry Douglas, left exhausted by the musicality and sheer talent. And, yeah, jazz, blues, hot flatpicking like this, finger style, he's right there with the best.
TRULY AMAZING!!! Tommy Emmanuel and Molly Tuttle collaborations such a treasure!! Fantastic Session! Molly voice and her guitar paying absolutely amazing! with Tommy Emmanuel. 👍👍
I play double bass and electric bass. That is entry level playing on bass. And rhythm guitar is not that difficult either. Guess we all different abilities.
@@craigs19721972 I'd say, judging by your comments, you overcomplicate things and try taking the attention away from the main show.. That simple, "entry level" rhythm is what this music calls for, no matter how frustrating it is playing all night. We would all love to play endless solos and what we imagine would sound impressive over the top of everything but nobody pays for that crap.
Lots of the greats are starting to slow down after all these years, still great players but they miss that speed and that edge of their younger selves. Tommy just gets better and better and faster and faster it’s absolutely unreal. I hope he lives forever⚡️
I am in awe and positively mesmerized by Molly's right hand technique. You could make a close-up video with no audio of her picking and put it on a loop and I swear I could watch it for hours on end. Absolulty hypnotizing!
Here’s a video where they mounted a cellphone on her guitar and you can see her technique up close. She also discusses it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-awFeDMNiKX4.html
@@lucyritz6382 Yes it's probably less physically stressful, but it also showcases the recipe for speed and accuracy, which is to play with the absolute minimum amount of movement. It also shows off her incredible knowledge and skill: the better a player knows what they want to do, the less movement they need to accomplish the action. She's a true master. In comparison, my arm and picking are more discombobulated, which is part of why I'm slower, more inconsistent, and make more mistakes :)
Real guitar players learn to play from the wrist. Especially Bluegrass guitarists. It gives you control, volume etc but you have to be accurate. John Lennon played from the wrist - why he was a great rhythm player.@@lucyritz6382
Check out Wings of Pegasaus, Fil gives a perfect breakdown of Mollys technique, Molly has a camera mounted so you can see her flat picking, and Fil explains how its all about wrist roatation and economy of movement.........and 1000s of hours of practise.
it's amazing how easy it is to go from a 20 year old rave kid to 33 year old bluegrass enthusiast. they both have almost the same driving beat that just gets into your head. only difference is techno doesn't have the awesome vocals and all the guitar/mando/banjo/shredding. maybe it's inevitable that i'd get obsessed with this stuff being from tn and all.
Your comment resonates with me. For 15 years from my 20's to mid 30's i was a hard trance / techno dj. Now in my 40's the country music I was exposed to in my youth here in Australia is really speaking to me. Such sweet but also insanely technical music, wonderful.
I remember the first video I watched of her, playing on the couch at home with her two brothers. Even then at such a young age, you could tell she was a guitar genius.
I've been lugging around guitars for years, but after seeing this I should sell them and try something else. I know this guitarist Gabriella Quevedo has played with Tommy Emmanuel, and I'd love to see all of you together, even though I know one is a finger picker and the others are flat pickers. I'm old and had to set my dreams aside and apply my hands to other work. I could never compare, but an old guitar walked me through some difficult times, but often sat gathering dust until I picked her up and held her. I'm 72 years old and although I could never in my wildest dreams even come close. She's still waits on me and seldom complains when I feel the need to caress her neck. I never was a Saturday night hero either, but without a dream's the world be without color. Amazing, you are both amazing.
I've just become aware of the awesomeness that is Molly Tuttle. Am in full rabbit-hole mode right now and loving it!! Just came from watching her preform with Billy strings, and now here she is with the great Tommy Emanuel. She can hang with anybody! Wow!
2 of the best doing it! Molly is unbelievable. She should be the first woman to get the official designation of Certified Guitar Player. She also can sing like she has something deep down just itchign to get out for the world to hear. Thanks for the video and the collaboration. This is excellent. Hope i get to see them play together on tour.
Tommy Emmanuel can literally do anything he wants on the guitar any time he wants to do it. Anyone who can overshadow Molly Tuttle has got to be a master
I like to see younger artists learning from the old pros. Molly is great, but she's going to get better. Playing with artists like Tommy will help that happen.
I grew up in Cleveland , Ohio, not far from the White Motor factory on East 79th. In the early 80's, not long after White had collapsed from financial malfeasence, I was sent by my university to see what equipment might be of use to our new thermodynamics research facility. Most of it was arcane and/or too large, made for massive diesel testing. But what a magnificent structure. A Great Pyramid to the 20th century, a world leader in technology, the birthplace of the mighty White FreightLiner. I spent days there, in awe. I'm a believer, I got the Freightlner Fever.
I feel really proud to be able to say I've seen each of these two live, in small rooms (and have tickets to see Molly again in April). If you get the chance to see either of them: GO!
Man! Molly and Tommy, how good can it get !!! Two of the best pickers in the business. (Where are all those nay-sayers that claim Tommy can't pick Pure Bluegrass.)
Epic. Can’t help but grin through the whole thing. Love how Tommy always seems to be having a blast when he’s performing, and Molly’s vocal and guitar playing are awesome.
