I did that in February 1959 tank training and yes it was bloody cold in the tank park up on the moors. Then off to lybya for 3 years and four months. It was warmer.
They treated people like idiots back in 90/91 at 8 Sigs on any courses. I transferred from the RA & was honestly shocked at their instructors. utter bellends Just stupid crap from a cap badge that was honestly crap as soldiers in the field.
What a load of shite! I spent 24 years in the R Signals, the White Helmets were a waste of time, money and effort, they represented a dead trade, the turd Sgt in this video was obviously on an ego trip and the OC was box ticking "look at me" like so many R Sigs Officers, I loved being a soldier, and being a Signaller, I hated the wankers who walked over people to further their own "career", glad to know that the waste of money that was the White Helmets is over...
So.. what was the purpose of this programme? And was it achieved? Was it to break vintage motorcycles? Or boost the number of paraplegics? Because that's what it looks like.

We got treated hard. But if you could handle it..... which by the comments I'm judging you couldn't, you had the honour of being a White Helmet. There have been less White Helmets awarded than some of the finest awards in history. I suspect you have neither.

I am an Ex Scaley and the white helmets were the most useless and pointless unit and training course in the British army, I knew the captain at the beginning and the Sgt, what a pair of spankers!! In fact the whole Royal Signals display team were pretty pointless - no wonder the white helmets were disbanded!!
