White ink for fountain pen Is the DeAtramentis Document white really worth it?

This was a fun test I did with the DeAtramentis Document white ink for fountain pens. I wanted to see how well it flowed, how opaque it was and if it clogged my fountain. Such a fun experiment. Have you tried it? Do you know of another white ink that works well with fountain pens?
Inktober 2023 is coming up and I'm getting itchy! I've decided to participate again this year, for the 7th year in a row. I'll try to post a video everyday if I can to share my drawings, and post the drawings on Instagram as well (@ sandrinesgallery).

Fun drawings/doodles. It was great to see the white fountain pen in action! I'm fascinated with black paper but I don't end up using it very often, unfortuntately.

1. Another pen & ink channel, yay! Subscribed. 2.I have settled strictly on De Atramentis Artist Ink. I'm not sure it is different at all from Document Ink. And I just added White to my shopping list, thanks to this very convincing review. 3. Another use is to mix some white with another color for added opacity.

Welcome! I'm going to have to google the artist ink, as I hadn't heard of it. And adding with to other colors is a very good idea!! Thank you for the tips.

defo looks like a good ink to have in anyones ink box, I would not have even though of using grey paper with this ink, so going to have to play with that kinda paper, although I bet the white ink would look way cool on brown Karft paper

Yes, it looks lovely on kraft paper too. I love white ink on toned paper.

Never use fountain pen documental ink on a fountain pen you cannot afford to lose due to cloaking. Never let the pen sit for three days. For changing ink or every refill is recommended to flush the pen with a clear, I use the Rohrer & Klingner one.

We all have different experiences. The document ink has never clogged my pen.

Yeah, I’ve had DA Document Ink in my Lamy and another cheaper Schneider FP for over 2+ years, never cleaned, just refilled….it’s still good… I was scared off by people saying “Never use!!!” until I just decided to try myself and found all the scaremongering wasn’t true I also use Platinum Carbon Black in another Lamy and Schneider and Pilot Metro MR3, same deal, all good! Don’t be scared!

And - does it clock the fountainpen ? This ink apears realy strong on black an gray paper in your video. I did not expect this.

It hasn't so far. It flows very well. I wouldn't go with anything thinner than a medium nib, though. I'm very excited about it.

It clocked mine unfortunately. But probably my fault since I forgot to clean the pen after I used it.

It is ok as long as you work the pen. But don't leave it lying a side for more than a couple of days. It also very much depends on the pen. Platinum pens seem to hold much longer before needing declogging!
