White lion never wrote a bad song . All their songs were catchy , melodic rock with incredibly well constructed guitar solos . 30 years later it still is quality music .
I love the husband/wife dynamic that most great bands have. Tramp is like, "It's okay, settle down, let just go easy." Vito's like, "Nah I'm going nuclear!" :)
Absolute gem of an album with many deep meaningful lyrics about keeping a family unit together to avoid divorce and another about children and world peace 🕊️
You can tell Mike has much respect for Vito....All your shit is great....All people have opinions....thats ok.....thats part of the business....Metallica changed their position on their sound many times.....its ok....life goes on...enjoy the legacy. But Vito if you see this, Im one of your biggest fans, we are waiting for your return.....
Another revealing interview. Good stuff. To me, Big Game felt rushed. The band said it was, too. I didn’t know this until years later. Little Fighter, Broken Home, Don’t Say It’s Over, Cry For Freedom, If My Mind Is Evil….really good White Lion tunes. The album cover I thought was not the best choice. Compare it to Fight To Survive…Pride….and the later, Mane Attraction…..it didn’t belong. My opinion.
It's too bad these guys will never get back together again. I think the record industry screwed them over, and they said; screw it, we're done! If they had their start today. With the accessibilty of the internet. These guys would be blowing rock bands out of the water. They were the next Van Halen! R.I.P. White Lion, it was great rockin' with Ya' Boy's! 🦁 🎸🎼🎵🎶
Vito early on stole so much from VH verbatim. HOWEVER the style elements that were Vito's creation were new and innovative. Those parts are why I continue to listen to White Lion today
actually main attraction is a heavier record! you have sabbathier riffs like she got everything Leave me alone has a heavy riff as well! Out with the boys starts heavy also! lights and thunder has a heavy riff and The warsong!!! dude its seems like a heavy record to me!!
They are acting defensive the whole interview. This were the times when "Big Game" was received with mixed reviews, some of them truly aggressive and Vito seems more affected & aggressive for that here. Mike looks more candid or maybe he's trying to be conciliatory and THAT is a virtue, not blasting the UK Press like Vito does here just because he's but%hurt. The album wasn't good enough, let's be honest. It's a sub par from "Pride". Then they worked really hard on "Mane Attraction" but i think the relationship between these two was broken already. Vito was a genius on guitar but he wasn't ready for the highs & lows of fame. Mike could while Vito throw all his talent for a restaurant or whatever he decided to spent his time the rest of his life.
I agree. You can tell Vito is feeling rather salty towards something or someone. I'm sensing a bad vibe between the two. Just what I'm seeing hearing and feeling. 👍
They don't seem too connected or comfortable to each other. This vid shows that Vito wasn't too pleased about Tramp. I guess it was just business, until it lasted.
@@christianprinceteachesisla1662 No man, that's just body language. It's clear Vito doesn't stand Mike at all. Mike confirmed that they weren't too close, just musical partners.
Lots to dissect in this interview. Times were tough…the reviews were not that positive for the record…and it hurt. You take….Pride….in your music. Gosh…I wish they would have reunited for a reunion tour…there’s an audience for it. They wound have done very well. Put out another Greatest Hits record with some new tunes, acoustic versions, etc….it would have been nice.
all WL records are great. "Fight To Survive" was an album i heard well after "Mane Attraction" and i read that the release date on that record was delay after delay and that is an awsome record.
