To me most Jaguar games look like something that is still in the alpha stage. The gameplay menus and everything just seem unfinished. Even back when it was new I can't imagine anyone enjoying a game like this or Club Drive.
Back in the day this was acceptable, but I would have loved to see a game called "black men can't swim" or something like that, double standards are funny sometimes lol.
i had this game before. 20 years ago. the controls were terrible but after a while were manageable to win some games. this guy didnt score because he never cleared the key and most likely never played half court basketball.
5:22 - He drunked from 3 point land? Yea.. lol.. and there's always some annoying text in the middle part of the screen. That game is poorly designed all around.
This is one of the few games that made me want a Jaguar as a kid. I remember seeing the ads in Game Pro & EGM and thinking it looked awesome. In reality it looks/plays like sh*t, like everything else on the Jaguar.
I can't think of any basketball game I liked to play since One on One on C64. Maybe I just don't know what games to try out but all I've tried have been absolutely terrible.
Man this game looks cheesy, but I use to live right next to a B-Ball court, and this sounds like some of the crap guys would say on the court, only way toned down, far as the music it's classic harsh Atari sounding music, as I've always felt Atari systems lacked in the sound department, when compared to other systems, including there computers.
I remember this from that EGM Crapstravaganza issue. I kept that magazine for a long time because their rundown of 20 bad games was so funny. I might still have it randomly packed somewhere.
Man this chit is lame! If it was a PC Engine game I would buy it.....just to put in on my shelf and look good. I hav loyalty to PC Engine but Jaguar is fonz edition....
I remember this game being horrible back in the day, but watching your video to "re-experience" it, I can say, yeah, the game is awful. Sad to have been able to say I've played this garbage myself. By the way, Luke, it's great to see someone covering the Jaguar. Even more so, someone living in Japan! That's awesome.
"One of Atari's not so finest games" Ha! That's one way of putting it :D Thanks for showing this one Luke, never saw this much footage of the game before. It looks really hard to play and not much fun at all. Those voices get repetitive fast too, seems like everyone's got the same voice. Time for a nice round of NBA Jam!
Nice video, Luke. The Sega CD had a its own adaption of the movie; that one was more FMV based, and I think it used a lot of clips from the film. Thanks for the video!
Man I havent played my Jaguar in awhile but for some reason have really wanted to break out Theme Park an get into it, but shiat just thought about it I have no clue where I put my boxed games for the system .
Wow yeah that game just looks horrible, eesh. lol I mean I give em credit for trying to get that 'urban street basketball' style in the game's artwork and fonts and stuff... But when the game itself is that terrible, it just all falls apart in the end. Regardless, great video as always man.
Hahaha. Your review of this game was horrible. Biased. And terrible. It's not the greatest game but it is anything but impossible to play. The rest of these comments and sheeple 'me too' comments. It's too bad its so hard to find anything objective amongs reviews these days. Everyone's got their agendas.
