These White oak bokken are a great looking alternative to the standard red oak Boken for many Japanese martial arts. They are used by many styles including Kenjitsu, Aikido, Ju Jitsu and Ninjutsu. They are perfect for partner work, drills and forms. If you purchase one of our plastic saya they are great for practicing drawing sword work too. Some people will claim that the white oak is lighter, harder, softer, better to train with. We at Enso Martial Arts haven’t found this. They are just as good as the red oak bokken and each individual bokken has it own feel.
