The infamous white orca came super close to shore near East Sooke park. It is designated T46B1B and "Tl'uk" (which means moon in a local native language). It was first spotted May 2019 and was the first white orca seen in BC in 10 years. According to Fisheries Canada he 10-11 months old (at time of video) and is male. This pod of transient (Biggs) orcas has a range from Alaska to California.

Nah.. white orca is just a rare 'albino' case among the orca species.

Wow it’s an amazing place I was there from the 10th to 17th. We saw the little grey on the 12th aug. Is this the white orca from America?

I believe it is T46B1B (Tl'uk which means moon in the local native language). It was first spotted this May 2019 and was the first white orca seen in BC in 10 years. According to Fisheries Canada he 10-11 months old and is male. Apparently this pod of transient (Biggs) orcas has a range from Alaska to California.

Vincenz Eberl we saw little T46B1B and he’s a greyer version( not white or black) and not white, your video is very white. We saw him about 40m away and I did manage to get a shot or too but swell was about 5-6ft. Great video as ever

@@stevemoore7662 I saw some government drone footage and he was quite white. But other pictures have him as grey. Maybe his skin semi translucent so it depends on the lighting. I'll update the video if new facts arrive. Have a nice day.

I love Orcas. They are so beautiful and powerful. But please be careful with transient orcas, they are not like regular pods.
@bari2883
@bari2883 3 года назад
Meaning? Are they more stand offish? How do they differ.

Transient orcas are dangerous. They're the equivalent of kids that leave home to live on the streets and do crimes to survive and for fun.
@bari2883
@bari2883 3 года назад
@@violetlove1893 really? I've come to believe that orcas stay with their mothers side of the family line and never leave that pod. I thought transient orcas just meant they haven't got a specific home or waters. They travel longer distances and eat more varied food.
@violetlove1893
@violetlove1893 3 года назад
@@bari2883 read above reply. I'm out of data so my replies can't always be made. But transients leave the pods. They are the ones that play with their food and sometimes don't eat what they kill.

Your question got me curious so I Googled it. This young whale is T46B1B. It was first spotted May 2019 and was the first white orca seen in BC in 10 years. According to Fisheries Canada he 10-11 months old (at time of video) and is male. This pod of transient (Biggs) orcas has a range from Alaska to California. I hope to video him in the future. The big white Russian whale know as "Iceberg" was last recorded seen in 2016. They say there could be between 5 and 8 white orcas in Russia.
