Went for a fun climb in this wily white pine and wanted to highlight and discuss some of the gear I've been really enjoying and finding useful recently. It's like a long gear vlog. Thanks for watching!!!

Yeah that htp is super tough, I had a lanyard made of it for years and never got frayed. However I find that blue moon only has that picking issue when new, after it’s broken in I feel like it’s a lot tougher

Sometimes I don't have time to watch a long video, so personally, I would appreciate some short ones now and then. Keep up the good work and keep staying safe. That was a nice informative relaxing climb. I quite enjoyed watching you climb that pine. Nice view of the land around you. I climb with the rope wrench as well and love it. Still learning ,low and slow and safe. Stay safe up there . 👍🇨🇦👍

Great vid. Thanks! Have you made a video showing how you made your knee ascender? Id like to see that. (Imo a little shorter vids are easier to watch, but on the other hand the longer ones give a good perspective on how long it takes to perform functions, like advancing a tie in point.)

You're the first person I've ever heard that thinks the Rock Exotica method of unlocking the biner is superior. Interesting. One thing that I strive to do, at least in my day job or tree climbing, is maintain consistency and redundancy in form and function of gear. To me, it never made sense to have a RO biner that literally goes in the opposite direction of every single other brand out there. Also. Having an easier actuated gate on a biner might not be a good thing, you know. A balance of safety and ease of use is ideal. If you think your RO biner is much easier to open, then it's lacking in the safety advantages of the other biners.

The ease of use for me probably just comes from use, those Rock Os were the first double locking carabiners i owned for a couple years so I got real good at using them. Being easier to open I guess it makes sense that it could be less safe but, it depends on how you use it. I mentioned how I like the regular opening style for an HMS carabiner since if the prussik presses on it the gate won’t budge, however, whenever I use oval carabiners I always flip them so there’s nothing in the way of the gate area for when I clip it to my bridge. In that configuration if the prussik presses on the gate of a regular carabiner it will start to open the gate but not on a Rock O. I hope that made sense. Thank you!
