Great honest review as usual! I’ve been lucky to be offered the sapphire 3861 2 years ago by my wife. So this one will never go anywhere as long as I’m alive 😊. Then I’m now patiently waiting for this beautiful white dial to be delivered after a full upfront pre order. There’s room in one life to give both black and white some good wrist times ! Looks like a lovely watch, and thanks for sharing the comparison between the two. For me personally, the traditional black face is still my preference: more versatile, more a tool watch vibe. But omega has nailed this white dial, applied markers, lacquer all fits with the more “dress” watch aesthetic.
i think the white one looks better by itself but the black one is more wearable with everyday outfits i own the black one and if i'm going buy a 2nd speedy of the same generation, i will just get the silver snoopy because it's more special
Buy black if you dont have a speedy, buy white for the speedy nutcases be it your 2nd or 5th.Was only a matter of time, I knew you would have this on the channel asap.
I know the white dial is getting all of the attention right now, and I have yet to see it person (was going to go in last week, but got too busy), but I have to say the Black dial still wows me and seeing video/phots of the white dial doesn't quite do the same (even in your video comparison here). Disclaimer I have the black dial Hesalite, and I wear it everyday. I'm still amazed by the dial, especially in sunlight.

I bought my 861 speed master in 1972 in those days it was the only one. I’m now 69 years old, do I want a white dial that is not as clear as the white hands on black dial? Sure the white dial makes it look more polished, more like a dress watch. My watch from 1972 has sentimental value it cost £71 new, today the white dial is £7,600. Is it worth it?
Does the white version look larger than the black version? Normally white watches always look a little larger, but here there is still a black bezel around the white dial. Can you say something about that?
I held it side by side at the boutique with my Polar (226570) and thought the explorer was still slightly whiter. It doesn't really matter but you mentioned on the beginning of the video that this new speedmaster might have the whitest dial out there... Curious what others say... Definitely will be getting one - its a killer speedy!
Now, Omega needs to quickly release an unlimited version with a Gloss Black dial, White raised indices with Red Speedmaster script and tipped second hand as the 'True Twin' to this newest white dial version.
I don’t think this is the first white Speedy. I do want it. Maybe I’ll wait a bit see if the price comes down from an AD compared to the Omega boutique.
Human Nature is weird isn't it? If the Speedmaster was originally issued with A WHITE Dial in 1957 & then A BLACK Dial in 2024, you can bet that everybody would be gouging each-other's eyes out & selling their Mothers down the river into the Slave-Trade just to get one? Am i right? Or am i RIGHT? My Beautiful Black-Dialled Speedmaster was born in 1974 & runs chronometer-beautifully at 3"+ per day. In a year, people will forget it. When Astronauts land on Mars, they will be wearing Speedmasters & they will have BLACK Dials!
It's like all watch enthusiasts were sitting around bored with life....and then!!.. I'm reminded of the movie "Wally", all the overweight, overstimulated gluttons bored with life...then the an announcement that blue is the new red. Then they all instantly follow the hype!😂
I have the classic and I have to say that I wouldn’t buy the white dial. I prefer the closer authenticity of the black dial, with heselite crystal and closed back.
I think it makes sense that the white one is the Saphire Sandwich. Never liked the white rim from the edge of the saphire. Now you could probably have discounts on the black saphire sandwich.
I’ve never been a fan of the Speedy but boy does that white dial version look great. However, I’m done with Omega since they’re no longer all Swiss made since 2022. I’ll just enjoy my vintage Seamaster.
The mail was from omega. The snoopy automaton in the back is tricky so it was always going to be a limited duration production run. Now that an alternative is out, retiring the hard to make watch makes sense.
These are cool and I used to want one but my buddy pointed out the phallic 12 o'clock indices on his and it kinda ruined it for me. Yea I know silly thing to notice but I can't unsee it now sad 🫠.
