I remember buying Standing Alone on cassette when it came out and loving every song on it. I've since purchased the Japanese cd and found an original vinyl lp. I truly appreciate good musicianship and musicians that take pride in their performance and White Wolf in the perfect example.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I just discovered it after having not listened to my White Wolf cds in many years; I was totally fucking stunned about how great the quality and sound are! These guys kicked fucking ass! Big fan!
no problem man, I got this from guitarist Rick Nelson who was given a copy of it at some point over the years by another fan. I have another bootleg audio recording somewhere of the band playing all covers doing a shredding version of Dont Tell Me You Love Me by Night Ranger of all bands. These guys were awesome, no question.
thnaks for sharing this jewel, and to know more of the history of this great band!... i have the oportunity to see them playing by this sharing of videos1 thanks again
Awesome video - these guys were/are really f'ng good. Wish they were able to do more over the years. 2007's Victim of the Spotlight is excellent if you haven't heard it.
Rick got the copy (and the White Wolf one) from me when you guys were looking for source material for the doc. I used to record all the "local" band's TV appearances back then. Hard Knox, Steeler, etc. I would love to find my copy of Pretty Rough on ITV, with Frank Juskiw though. Cam said they recorded this live in the CFRN studios early on a Sunday morning after playing at the Beverley Crest the night before. I don't think they changed out of their stage clothes
Wow, that's really cool, thanks for sharing. Let me know if you still have those copies of the other bands, I'd love to digitize them and put them up here, that stuff is history now
@coldistheshoulder What happened to that WW Doc that used to be up? Never heard of these guys back in the day but the documentary was a great watch & I'd love to see it again.
Worked with Cam in Edmonton. Started talking music one day, and out came these bands that he personally knew or toured with. Blew my mind the stories he told me. 🎸
I was curious in watching this and other videos on your channel about White Wolf that a documentary you put together about the band from a few years ago isn't listed anymore. Did it get taken down for copyright?
its still here, its unlisted now. No, I own the the copyright on it, I de-listed it for my own reasons. I saw Rick not too long ago and he asked me the same thing hahaha. If theres a private invite function on here I'll do what I can to send you the link.
@@coldistheshoulder Hey thanks for getting back to me. I stumbled upon it on RU-vid a few years back while looking up bands from Edmonton on Wikipedia and liked it. If you could send me a link that'd be great. Are you still in contact with the guys from time to time? What are they up to?
@@vexille719 only Rick, he doesn't live too far from me and I see him around the neighborhood from time to time. Rick's a pretty private person now, he left the public life behind along time ago. He has so many great stories, like they all do, which will likely never be shared elsewhere haha. There's one about a rather eccentric Hilton family member, I can't remember if it's in the film, who had a giant crush on Rick, that they all remembered and laughed about. When they were together, they were like brothers but when the band ended everyone's lives changed and they all developed different priorities and went different directions in their lives. To my knowledge Cam and Rick, who are brothers in law, haven't seen Les or Loris since the band days, even though everyone still lives here. No idea about Loris but theres no animosity on Les' end, its just life and people move on. Les' son Nick was in this local metal band called the Dayshift Strippers, he was the guitarist and a bit of a shredder. No idea if he's still playing. Nice kid, nice family. I told Les back then he needed to start a restaurant called "Les Schwartz' Ribs", and I'm still waiting, as are everyone who don't know what a freaking good cook Les is. Rick was unique in that he pretty much left music altogether, he has so many other interests, I think that world was kind of limiting for him. I think Cam still runs his studio and was playing with that band snake eye seven he mentioned in the film but I don't think they are active anymore. Les and Cam I haven't seen in a long time. Don has been in Vancouver since the late 80s and I lost touch with him when I ditched Facebook a few years ago. Don is music, he'll never stop playing. He was doing a Billy Joel cover act that had regional dates out there, but no idea if hes still doing it, especially now. His pre WW band Farmer recorded material and I have a disc of their stuff, I've wondered why some boutique label somewhere couldnt release it. The point of power album is worth finding. Maybe if I can find some time i can post a video of the Farmer stuff along side all the pics from that era I still have on an HD somewhere that never made it into the film, there's hundreds. I also have an soundboard copy of a live show from the era when Cam was out of the band I could post when I can find some time as well...Rick shreds his way thru a Night Ranger song, his playing is quite impressive. Loris lives closer to me than Rick or Cam I think but as he didn't want to do it I ultimately never met the guy. As the film mentions there were hard feelings as the result of what happened so I totally understood why I never heard back from him. Label stupidity right? Then they get bought out and the band were done, just like that. Same thing happened to Autograph, the RCA buyout finished them off too.
Sounds like a mixture of Rainbow and Judas priest underrated band could have been huge with proper studio practice the musicians were actually really good
