I am white married Nigerian. We are happily married for almost 15 years, we have 4 children. But in the beginning it was not so. We had to learn a lot, and to be honest you just need to have common strong foundation. Our foundation is God, if not God for the first two years of marriage we would probably run away from each other. But Reliance on the Holy Spirit that what made a difference.

Wow as a Nigerian 🇳🇬, I have been to Amish community in LANCASTER Pennsylvania twice. Took my wife for a training there. I would take my daughter into the farms, just to show here as an African, i see similarities btw Africans and Amish people. I love the experience there. I treasure the experience. God bless you both.

They still ride on horse driven carriages instead of cars and do not use electricity or any product that uses electricity. They live in their own communities in rural US with the same lifestyle as if they are still living 200 years ago. The Mennonites are more liberal and modern.They live in normal electrified homes and drive cars etc.However, they are also strict from a religious point of view. The Mennonites often play the role of middlemen between the Amish and modern society when it comes to buying/selling products since Mennonites know how both those worlds work very well. Note that neither Amish nor Mennonites marry outsiders so this is highly unusual. They don't even marry other white people outside their respective communities.

The process is pure torture. It's like an abyss of the unknown. You cannot even inquire on your case. It's definitely not for the weak. It takes a lot of strength to endure the process. Staying faithful and loyal is easy. Missing them is torture.

Oh wow…. I used to live near Amish country and visited their towns often…. Never in My wildest dreams did I ever think I would see an Amish woman as an African village wife…. God is too much❤. For those who aren’t from the US, Amish /mennonites are similar to very Orthodox Christians who stay within their communities and rarely mix with other groups of people. With the exception of Amish traders in the part of their land where a lot of tourists visit, I’ve rarely interacted with them. They don’t use electricity and the public facilities and infrastructure provided by the government… they choose to completely fend for themselves. They still use horses and buggies and lead very simple traditional lives. Every now and then you might see an Amish mum with her kids at the mall. Love seeing when love crosses borders. ❤
