When I consider putting in complementary engines/sub-engines, my first thought is always "If I only draw one half of my deck, can I still access both halves of it?" Live Twin-Spright is a great example of this, Tri-Brigade-Lyrilusc or Tri-Brigade-Fire King is another. From what I've seen in your combos, you need to hard open not only both halves of the deck, but also have enablers for them thus making the combos upwards of 3 cards, and heavily luck dependant 3 card combos. It's a cute concept but IMO this combination is not destined for greatness

I try to find some synergy with Fiendsmiths still. Personally I value their ability to bait stuff and even soften a board similarly to Kash package, then going second I also have Selene/Lyna to make Beatrice a pseudo-bridge into the WW engine with enough spells. Irae compliments the end board really well by naturally playing around DRNM thanks to Woes, and Ceasar (while not mandatory) can make the end board even better. But unfortunately as you said there isn't much synergy. Toy engine is incredible for what it does, and because the deck doesn't have a field spell I believe the mini Centurion package complements this very well thanks to the stronger synchro plays. About the lvl4 LIGHT target, I want to make Shining Star Dragon work with Muddy Mudragon for LIGHT/DARK Chaos Angel (primera + muddy) and Crimson (shining + diabell), then if extra deck space allows it a Dragoon or Mirrorjade/Sanctifire. I also experiment with a 2-card RDA engine (Gaia + Vision) and 4 Bystials expecting a lot of Fiendsmith representation, but from what I've played with the most competitive build feels the Runick variant and the boardbreaker Toy one.
interesting comments ive been testing a bystial version with regained and 3 lubellion but its kinda mid tbh because dis pater isnt better than what other subengines give you. but i could definitely see 1 magna 3 druis be solid in a fsmith meta and then you play 2 chaos angel i havent really liked selene in the deck because having 3 spells is very unreliable, but it would be nice to have an accesscode bridge however, ive revisited fiendsmith, and while its true there isnt real synergy, ive found some awkward but useful combos and it feels good that there's only one brick (lurrie) which is unbricked by accessing any other part of the fsmith engine im going to do a video on fsmith ww next since its one of the most asked about ones on the dodging drnm thing tho, i dont really like using woes for irae to neg drnm since it defeats the purpose of woes being a well timed eclipse, and then the drnm basically traded with irae and woes anyhow. whether its good depends on if you made apo i guess and need to protect it, but then you lose to talents/thrust
@@BimYGO Bystials provide some free bodies for a bit of pressure, check the ceiling of the current meta very well (fiendsmith and IP) while having incredible recursion. I am working on a control build based on Skill Drain for WW+Bystial (although I expect drain to be limited, and I approve of that) siding even Beast for more interruptions through the backrow. And there I use the mini-centurion engine just to proc Chaos Ruler on the opponent's turn (8+2 or 4+6 work very well) if Skill Drain is not in play. I was a big fan of Bystial Centurion with Duality for double Blazar plays, but I believe WW can't keep up with Snakes or even Yubel as a wombo combo strat, so I prefer a game 1 backrow heavy approach then pivoting into handtrap searches post side to counter Storm/HFD/Evenly that will be sided against me (your videos are the inspiration for that) For fiendsmith, I agree despite not having great synergy they are too good to not play them. Irae is there to protect cards like Blazar while it takes away something with it when the opponent removes him from the field. Also fiendsmith gives a free win condition for time.
@@babrad What are the Duality pairings you're going for? Is it just Auxila into Crimson Dragon or is there more going on? While testing various things for the NAWCQ I threw together a Fiendsmith Bystial Centur-ion deck and Duality never crossed my mind as an option.
@@batsmak2506 auxila into crimson when you have milled the trap to revive it can give you a free Blazar during the end phase at 4 summons (crimson, auxila, Blazar) and is safe from Bystials because you can chain phalanx to duality. That's about the pure Centurion, it also helps recycle synchros. About Bystials, you can turn any into malong so that trudea uses the field as a quick light/dark chaos angel and double removal. If you want to go with more Bystials (Lubellion, regained, then optional Beast or the synchro trap that is win more and only the floodgate part matters) you can turn Lubellion into Starlight for burn and removal, or on the opponent's turn into Scarred then climb into a 12 in order to trigger the "Raigeki" effect and get a free OG RDA. This works well with Beast, giving you a free tribute to pop. The above pairs well with a small resonator engine and it's not a true centurion deck, maxing out only field and oath, running 1 of each pilot. Chaos Angel is the true boss.
Have you experimented with Piri Reis Map at all? It adds some consistency to the deck since I can use it as a normal summon or a spell discard depending on the other cards in my hand. I haven't decided if I love it or not but I'm curious of your take
i think that zombie vampire and photon lord are excellent cards, but imsety is the only good draw in the engine. sarc is neg1 and hapi is a brick. the full version with rainbow bridge, crystal beast just to search secret village is way to bricky if you want a win condition, play something like thunder king rai-oh or jowgen since soldier/rciela can search it, and then side it in for going first
I love this video! Can you do a white woods gate guardian toy deck or the thoughts of it? I've been playing my version of it online, and it's kinda insane if you have a good hand.
i dont think those cards are competitive enough to be meta relevant, but if your locals isnt meta relevant then definitely play what you have the most fun with
in this case i dont see it as much of a pivot because of how small the ww engine is; youre almost forced to play something else. i think this version could be acceptable in a breaker format where really youre just making your main board for show and your real power is woes+smashers/double cross i dont expect itll be the best version of the deck, but at least it does give you more gas to play through things
my first build used chicken game so i tested it quite a bit. in theory it sounds nice to draw, send it, reset it, draw, send it again. but in practice you end up drawing into redundant engine pieces that dont help you progress your gamestate because you were already comboing i think the draws are probably most effective in a heavy hand trap build, because those draws are not redundant havent tested with melodious yet but not on my radar atm. is there any particular synergy with it? otherwise fiendsmith is probably generically better
i dont think there's any particular synergy between sinful and ww, but sinful has the advantage of just being overtuned, so i wont say its horrible the ocg plays rainbow bridge stuff for secret village, which is very bricky on the dice roll as those cards are all dead going second. siding them takes up a lot of side deck space
droll is a problem for sure. one way to play around it somewhat is to search woes earlier than usual so that youll at least have silvera access during your opponent's turn, and then potentially also risette/asteria cycling when you do droll hurts a lot more if you start with a sub engine search, because then youll be under droll before you even used your ww engine some hands play through droll a lot better than others, like asteria+box/soldier, because you could for example asteria send soldier to summon silve, new chain special soldier and add woes off silve. then if you get drolled you at least can end on SP with woes set and live having hand traps of your own takes the pressure off being drolled because youll be more certain of survival, but droll definitely hurts edit: upstart/chicken i dont like because going second they could have been interactive non engine, and going first you often draw into redundant engine pieces you already had access to. but if your locals doesnt have much droll and youre on power spells then its worth trying out still

Been loving the White Woods content so far. I'm picking up the deck on sneak release so I'm looking to start testing with it irl and this is definitely a version I want to consider. One thing I was wondering, did you consider playing a Swap Frog package instead of Beavers? Swap Frog with Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier gets you two level 2 monsters that you can use for Spright plays or that can make Swap Frog if you already had access to them, not to mention Mirror Mage searching Freezing Chains gets you a free send for WW monster effects.
i did consider it to make toad with that package, but decided against it because freezing chains and ice barrier are just not good draws, so you get an omni negate you dont really need at the cost of a worse main deck
