White Zombie (1932) BELA LUGOSI 

Dracula is what bela is born for and will always be remembered for, the greatest count ever but I would argue that his performance in this film matches it and it might be better, he is truly in his character with much more expression and body movements, he delivers his dialogue with such ease and is truly evil. His greatest performance. Plus this film is such a unique and original horror film with incredible camera work and split screen visuals coming together with an original score.

My favorite Bela Lugosi movie. It took 11 days to make, and the Halperin Brothers, who were the directors, producers and makers of this movie had a falling out and walked. Bela Lugosi took over in the direction if the movie. A multi talented man.

The opening scene with the burial chant has always been one of the creepiest movie opening for me

I last saw this in the early 80's when I was about 10. It scared the crap out of me :) And it's still a great film !

This was a love story, with a little creepiness added on.

Bela was already 50 years old here, and 48 when he made his film debut as Dracula, the role he brought from the stage.
