I remember when 'Are You Afraid Of The Dark?" sometimes used this movie in the background during episodes, specifically "Tale of the Bookish Babysitter".
Hey James/Mike I have an epic idea for a livestream, where you guys watch public domain horror movies and provide commentary Joe Bob Briggs style. It would be awesome.
I like the sound, when doctor Brumer touched guy by the shoulder in the end to ask a match. It's not so loud here, but when you watching movie by yourself, it sound like a carpet being whipped! He easily could break the poor man neck! Holy hell. And notice how the guy is confused - I'd be too.
If James felt like being drunk while watching the last scenes of White Zombie, how do you guys feel while watching scenes from the original Nosferatu, in particular, the scene while Hutter is travelling to the castle with Max Schreck as the "driver"? Those shots always made me feel like being on an acid trip!
Thrown back into the cave, going forward in dimension. James talks about the cave in detail and it's wildly large use in the film industry. Super interesting
I've seen The Corpse Vanishes. It's pretty entertaining. It's a murder mystery comedy and Lugosi is the creepy butler that you're obviously supposed to suspect. However, he's a total red herring and he's actually a pretty nice guy.
Mike mentions "The Corpse Vanishes". That's a public domain Bela Lugosi movie from 1942. It was featured in an early episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Yo James, remember in Rob Zombie's Halloween? Young Micheal stares at the camera from the back of the police car like Lugosi does here. Coincidence maybe.
I think the witch doctor is named Pierre because the movie takes place in Haiti and they speak French over there but yeah he could've used a better name for a witch doctor
watch serpent and the rainbow for wes cravens realistic depictions of zombies. and before he held his nose he was screaming and holding his captures arm, how was he frozen?
In films with out sound why did they not just record the sound onto records and play it at the same time like in school from the 70`s that was still being done in the 90`s.
I personally liked the other movie commentary more, where you talked alone. This way it was easier to focus on the movie and also learn more about it, because your talking was more addressed to the viewer.
James, I was just going back and watching your Camp Cult videos from 2010's Monster Madness. In the promo art, is that silhouette of a man putting his hands up from that 9/11 photograph of the firefighter calling for more helpers?
I've always sided against the idea of White Zombie having a remake. My reasons: 1. Remakes are overrated and overused. Enough said. 2. I just know that they'll turn it into a flesh eating zombie movie. I understand that the movie should be different, but If they do that, it'll just get lost in all of the other zombie movies. Just like remakes, those types of zombies are way overused and they're just not scary anymore. I really wish non-flesh eating zombie movies would be made again (Astro Zombies, Shock Waves, etc)
