My go-to treatment for whitefly is soap dissolved in cold water. It seems to work in my garden. Organic soap seems to do the trick and will wash off with the next rain. Edit: rose plants can have an affliction that looks similar to whitefly. It looks like a white powdery substance all over the leaves. The most effective organic treatment I found for that is to dilute full fat milk in water (a couple of tablespoons per litre). Spray on the plants (top and bottom of the leaves) twice a week for three to four weeks just to make sure. Perfectly healthy roses as a result!
hello i got hit with them dec 2021 they attacked my collards and cabbage and they geting worse . this is my first time ever dealimg with them i been gardening for atleast 5 years never had them but thank u for video and going try what u saying used neem oil before for spider mites
I don’t have many houseplants as I cohabitate with cats. So I won’t be participating in Take Your Houseplants for a Walk Day. For those who intend in joining in the fun, it is held on July 27th this year.
I got a new Rosemary plant, and within weeks it was invested with spider mites, and after I got rid of those, it was infested with whiteflies. I sprayed neem oil, which only took care of them for a couple weeks. The whiteflies are back and I have no idea what to do :(
I’m so sorry you are having this problem! Do you happen to have a patch of weeds nearby? They can often attract pests to the area and yet survive. If your plant looks unhealthy you can address that to make it more resilient. Make sure to treat your space and not just this one plant as those pesky bugs could be lurking elsewhere simply waiting to return. I hope this helps some.
I am zone 7 and my Brassicas were covered with WF all winter in below freezing temps. Not sure where you get your information? They do just fine in the cold.
