A good look at the new Treasure Pro from Whites Electronics. I ran the CPU on my PC hard on this one, and said really so many times it's ridiculous, but the info is there :) LOl Keeping it real as usual. Hope you enjoy the video!
Just got the TP about 2 months ago... have been out in the yard a little with it! Great to see you taking the time explaining how all the options work... can't wait to get back out using the disc mode... Thanks
Hi Just purchased this machine based on research i have conducted over the last month. I have looked at all the other machines in this price range and i feel your review is absolutly spot on. The last time i metal detected was in the mid 80s so am looking forward to starting again. I just want to say thankyou for such a Awesome review and that you have helped me make a informed choice. many thanks and happy Hunting
Best $$$ I've ever spent on a machine. Professional stuff for a lot less money. Especially that 10" DD coil which is a helluva coil. I'm really likin' the T-Pro!
Hi All, Great Video CCH! This review determined my purchase of this unit. I have field tested it for 2 weeks now. (Didn't expect much at the $370 price point) The Treasure Pro is spot on in 82% of the cases. I'm very impressed with this machine and it's now my 'go to' unit. I see quite a bit in reviews about metal detector depth and that's great but rarely does anyone post VDI numbers for the specific machine being reviewed and the items found within it. Thought I'd share...For the White's Treasure Pro here are some accurate VDI numbers to look for when scanning for Jewelry....These numbers are specific to the Treasure Pro, other brands will differ...Solid 14K gold Ring: 26-28 (Nickel), 14K Gold Chain: 6-12 (Foil), 10K Wedding Band: 24-28 (Nickel), Platinum Wedding Ring: 25-30 (Nickel) All tested at an 8" depth. For Silver (Sterling jewelry) and others, most 'hits' came between the dime and quarter section (77-88) All coins 'hit' in their respective categories just fine! Wonderful discrimination modes offer extreme flexibility when searching and I especially like the accurate detection with a slower moving coil. You don't have to swing fast to get accuracy with this unit. last weekend I picked up $28.00 in clad, a solid sterling 9 mm heavy ring (Band), silver earrings and a rusted Laurel music box movement from 1961! I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video, I found one of these for a couple of hundred pounds pre-owned and am thinking of getting it. Not sure if there's a UK version that substitutes Dollars/Dimes/Quarters for copper/silver/Pounds lol but I think it's a bargain anyway. Thanks.
Hey buddy hello from Atlanta Georgia I like your presentation on the treasure Pro it looks like a nice machine I don't see anything wrong with it keep me updated on it thanks again goodbye from Atlanta Georgia
+ICdigger Thank you. I've also been wondering if there could be a new flagship model in the works. The V3i is still a beast though, especially with the new 13 inch ultimate coil!
I really don´t understand the cm/inch feature. There´s no numbers indicated, just the depth icon....so why? And how many cm/inches are each square icons?
i have a Whites Classic SL,would anyone have any information on this detector?i had it for years but not sure what year it is,i want to start using it again, thankyou
I know you get asked a lot of times about what is what, Im looking at this one or the fisher f44 just don't know witch one to pull the trigger on what do you think?
lol i myself across the pond own one of these we use inches not cm lol i had this machine as soon as it was released i have found some serious coins , 1844 half sovereign, Roman 15AD tribute penny, Half pond african gold coin , This machine is the best whites affordable machine yet. just a few tips for you : Searching in high trash un check the left pull tab discrimination and check the right leave the threshold at "0" the reason for this it will eliminate new annoying pull tabs but still pick up the gold , next use Energizer Lithium Batteries 10x more power longer lasting as strange as it sounds the detector functions a lot better i have found. next use headphones as the detector won't sound some deep targets but it will sound through the headphones i found my half sovereign with the headphones i disconnected the headphones to dig and the detector when i doubled checked didnt sound but i reconnected the headphones and bobs ya uncle it was sounding and showing a 52
This is a hot seeded hunt detector. I'll be using the pro with a 9 inch concentric coil this weekend. The Nox 800 & D2 will be a backup sitting in the suv.
Gene, this a great, honest review.... thank you for this video! You have used both, so how do you think this stacks up against the AT Pro.... I have a water machine already, just speaking of land hunting
+Pull tab Patriot The AT Pro is really different in my opinion. This is a bit more of an entry level machine price wise than the AT, but it can hang with it in many ways. The Treasure Pro feels much lighter, and is a great park hunter. In heavy iron the AT would have an advantage due to a faster recovery speed. The Treasure Pro would do fine, but you would need to slow down a bit and really focus on picking out the good targets. The Treasure Pro has a much easier to read display. It's really a value packed unit that seems to be aimed at the beginner to intermediate user. This would be more competitive with the Ace 350 price wise, and has way more to offer. Hope this answers your question :)
NewsLife Marketing & Advertising I did use this machine out in the field a good bit. It was surprisingly deep in my ground. It also did a decent job on the beach. The only downside is not the fastest recovery speed, but not the slowest either. A two second sweep speed seemed to do well. A higher end Whites would be a bit better, but this is respectable for the price point.
+james lance It doesn't have the iron audio, but it does have a large ID scale.Often bottle caps will read lower than a coin on a Whites machine. You can also wiggle the coil and pull back so the target comes off the tip of the coil. If the tone starts to change or become very erratic, it could be round iron or a bottle cap. This trick works with almost any detector.
Thanks for a very nice review. It made it easy for me to choose my new detector. Is it possible to program the detector? I mean, i'm from denmark and i would like it to detect a Danish coin and regconize it and put the info on the display ?
+Henrik Pedersen The display categories are preset with the US coins on this particular unit. The target ID number would be the best way for you to identify your coins. I would just test them and remember the ID's. I'm not sure if there is an international model that does not have US coins on the display. I know some companies have done that, and everyone just goes by the target ID number. Here, a ten cent coin rings up as a 74. I usually just listen for the tones myself. Silver and Copper coins will come in as a high tone in the 3 or 4 tone option. Good luck with your detecting !
I am looking to purchase my first metal detector and have been told to check out White's Electronics. I was wondering what you thought about the White's Coinmaster?
Jason Avery I think it's a good solid unit to get started with. My first machine was a Fisher F2. They now make the F22, and it's weather resistant. You may want to compare those two and see what you think.
Hi Carolina Coin Hunter, I would like to know if I can use these batteries ( Varta AA Rechargeable Battery 1600mAh) on my Whites Treasure Pro??? What is the maximum mAh aloud?Thank you
Hi there. I just bought one of these, and am having trouble with it. I keep getting all sorts of different signals, and the display often reads "Overload." Are there some settings I need to adjust?
The first thing you may need to adjust is lowering the sensitivity a bit. An overload signal usually indicates that you are over a large metal item. If you are over clean ground and still have a lot of issues, you may want to call White's customer service. If there is ever an issue, they are the best in the business at making things right.
I am new to Metal detecting and I got a White treasure pro. I tried it in my back yard and got a lot of dollar, half dollar, quarter and gold and not found one yet. I found a lot of pennies. am I not doing something right . I like your video I learned a LOT. Thanks.
Phillip Ramsay The best tip I can give you when starting out, is don't crank up the sensitivity too much at first. High sensitivity settings can cause false signals off of decayed iron or high ground minerals. A good thing to try is to ground balance in an area free of targets and then lock that in. Tracking over bad ground or iron can cause some erratic behavior. Just recheck your balance periodically. Work the machine slowly if in a target dense area. The more you use the machine, the better you will understand it's behaviour and be able to adjust if needed. Thanks for watching!
Phillip Ramsay Have you tried throwing down some targets to test with? Place some targets down such as penny, nickel, dime, quarter, bottle cap, and a nail. Get familiar with the targets, VDI numbers, and sounds. Also read the manual a couple times. You will get better with it over time. Hang in there.
+Scout Bashaw This has a lot more features like a true ground balance and salt beach mode, but the depth is very similar. The Ace 400 has a faster recovery speed, better in trashy sites.
I bought one of theses treasure pro & you are right it is a waste of money down the toilet. Now I am trying to sell a useless detector 4 $25.00 that what whites should be selling them for its nothing but a kids toy detector.
colin wilson I bet it is. I need to get over there and detect with you guys sometime. You guys have some serious history! I'm lucky to find 1800's coins. Thanks for watching:)
Carolina Coin Hunter Your more than welcome, And are you on a U K metal detecting forum, Your name is familiar. I have found a 1824 George 4th sixpence, with a very cheap detector. Moving to Norfolk soon, And i will be buying a more substantial machine, I just wanted to see if i would get into the hobby before splashing out on a good machine. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you find something good soon. ;-) x
I am buying one of these buddy, you have sold it to me, will take me a year or so to buy one but this is a cool machine for the money and i want to do land and beach this is the one cheers buddy.
