Who cares if his voice isn't what it used to be he's 70 years old,the nostalgia is enough I think everyone will enjoy singing the songs,Tommy at 71 playing those drums what a legend.how many 70 year olds can strut about like him.
Sadly nostalgia comes at a price and hearing him is a Pain sadly. saw him on the second whitesnake gig at the penthouse scarborough mid 70,s the he could sing. not anymore
I really care. I care enough not to bother parting with hard earned money to attend a Whitesnake gig and watch DC grunt his way through this charade. It is a load of nonsense. They were SO good back in the day. Hard to watch DC flush his legacy down the toilet.
Saw these guys back in the late 70s early 80s in there prime yes his voice has pretty well gone but in my eyes one of the greatest vocalists of all time been a pleasure guys we love you Dave
50 yrs in music we know and Coverdale knows his voice isn't the same but FFS stop hating ,everytime I read a post it's the same thing all the time, look what he has given us
The truth hurts. He's going out there and singing badly - when he bothers to even try - and taking shedloads of money. The band and the audience are doing all the work. He should have retired 20 years ago instead of taking money under false pretences. It's not just him... Debbie Harry is just as bad. Maybe even worse. This is how you ruin your legacy.
@@blastfromthepast8344 don't go and see them then ,simple , in these days of mass communication everyman and their dog will know the situation with his voice ,so if they attend a gig they what they are getting
@@boabythedug Not necessarily. Some people live in denial and don't believe, for example, that youtube videos are accurate. Or they just hope his voice has got better.
@@blastfromthepast8344 I get it ,I really do retired from touring ,maybe, but we had good to be bad ,forevermore and flesh and blood , mind you that was so so ,live at Hammersmith video , he will never tour again hopefully some fresh music will surface ,peace buddy
@@boabythedug I'm a big Whitesnake fan since 1987, saw them live in '94 (didn't get the chance before that) and have all the most recent albums. I just can't bring myself to pay to see them now as, apart from DC's vocal problems, they are just a tribute band now (apart from TA of course!). I hear tell that Dino is to be the new lead singer. Not sure if that's a good idea, but we'll see. And hear.
As long as this guy can fart on the scene,I will go see him,for the moments he gave all the way to here and now,in my life... Long live,Coverdale!!!! Respect!!!!
Absolutely. Did they give the crowd a song sheet each with their tickets.? Talk about ‘topping up the old pension plan’. The band were good but the old ‘snake waver’ is past it I’m afraid’.
I was there, it was a fantastic night. Saw them twice in the early eighties and no he's not the same as he was. That's age for you. It was still a great night. David Coverdale is a legend.
is this a joke?i mean ok his voice is not what it used to be, but it is so disrespectful not to sing almost half the song and just wondering around on stage like a tourist.
True, true… he was standing there for all concert and only played his electro-piano for one moment -________- I think many of us thought about why Coverdale bring him here, maybe only for additional of his personal voice?
See if you could upload Ozzie Osbournes full length concert from 1982 with a mind stunning drum solo from Tommy Aldridge on the diary of a madman tour after Randy Rhoads was killed in the plane crash!!!!!
Tommy is a pure BEAST as far as rock drummers go!! He still plays with strength and stamina for 90 minutes and been at it for over 45 years. His kick drum fills are smoother than most drummers tom fills.
The problem with DC's performance for me, having been a Whitesnake fan from the start, is that when he first came on the seen with Purple and after that with Whitesnake, he set the bar very high. His vocals were incredible, he was one of the best. In comparison, his current level of performance just sucks, and would certainly not have been acceptable back in the day. OK he is 70, this is a farewell tour etc. but when you are at a stage when you require the audience to dig you out, surely the time has come, or indeed passed to call it a day. Obviously the expectations of people who get the ticket, think he is fab and so on are not at a level heretofore. I would have to walk out, if this is what I had been met with.
Do you know what this venue was filled with love, of generations of Whitesnake followers, it was an amazing concert, one I will never forget. You would walk out.....my arse, the atmosphere was phenomenal, one thing I will say he had issues with his mic, which was visibly distressing him, he asked for the sound in his ear to be turned down twice. But he was better here than be was at Donnington in 1990, don't diss about something you were NOT there about. One of the main things we all love is being part of the Whitesnake choir family, so yeah we love to rock out with him
@@AnAnnoyingFan Great that you are such a loyal Whitesnake fan, and big time DC fan boy filled with love for the man. Bowing to the altar of DC whatever may be, has consequences, one of them being the challenge to take the objective position in evaluating his performance. From an objective perspective on this clip, DC sings very little of the song, leaving the audience to sing the more challenging pieces...fact. This is good enough for you and so be it, but for me this is a joke, given how high he set the bar in his prime. You are of the opinion that his performance here is better than Donnington 1990 and you are entitled to your opinion, but objectively you are wrong. Any vocal coach worth their salt, would point this out to you. There are plenty of negative comments regarding DC vocal performance on this tour, so I am not alone. Glad you enjoyed the singalong, but not for me.
I saw Whitesnake 40 years ago at Wembley Arena and Coverdale couldn’t sing live then. He was getting the audience to sing all of the technically difficult bits. Out of the studio the guy is a dud.
Hughes is natural tenor. He has nothing on low register. Also, he had a 20 year gap on singing, DC sings 50 years unstoppable. Prime period Coverdale was 2 times better than GH ever was.
Glenn Hughes career began with Finders Keepers which turned into Trapeze 55 years ago. Hughes got fired from Sabbath in 86/87 for drug abuse but came back recording in 1992 and never quit recording from solo albums, John Norum, several Tony Iommi albums and Joe Lynn Turner. Coverdale still sounds great at 70. I saw the Dead Daisies with Hughes and his voice is still powerful and around 30 years sober.
Without Blackmore there would be no burn…still the best player for the solos, you can jazz it up, you can do guitar gymnastics but Blackmore was best and purple only needed one keyboard player
Seems controlled, like… you stand here and only move when asked. Almost like they are not allowed toward the front.. besides David of course. I want to see Doug play that thing, but I can’t, he’s too far away!! Even from front row, too far away. I would be disappointed!!
