David is doing this tour to thank the fans for 50 years of support of whitesnake. Stop the negativity. Let him bow out with respect and dignity. He's earned his retirement.
I'd go just to see Tommy. That man is an animal behind the kit. His style and technique are enough to watch in itself. The man is a master metal drummer.
Hats off to Tommy Aldridge. This man hasn't changed his looks , playing or stamina in 40 years. He must be the most consistent drummer in rock and roll, and he still pounds that set like there's no tomorrow !
I understand Coverdale. He has an enviable career and in the 80's and part of the 90's when he was at his peak, BY MERIT, he was among the top ten heavy rock vocalists on the planet. That said, it's not easy for him to retire. But, as we can see in this video, his voice is very limited and for us fans who admire him so much, it's kind of sad to see him in this situation.
Just the joy the entire band has!! And Dino, playing air guitar - just pure happiness. Love the addition of Tanya and her backup vocals. Thanks for posting!!
Before the drum solo,F-uck Tommy Aldridge owned the song.Don dokken stated: we toured with W.S Back on 87' and i was walking through the dressing rooms and i heard that rattling drums noise coming from W.S. d.room and i saw T.A. warming up the songs, my gosh..he practically did the show twice..😳👏💪
Thank you David... from mistreated 🙏and burn🙏till now... You're my 45years legend!! Endless love from Athens... can't wait to see you on 9th of July 🤘👏❣️🇬🇷
I was there yesterday and almost just for the Whitesnake. It really broke my heart seeing David Coverdale singing like that. The band although was fantastic. Loved the Europe, they brought me back 35 years. The Foreigner have been simply AMAZING probably the best show
Sadly, his once great voice has gone... ruined during the 1980s by all the screaming and hollering. Now he can't hold a tune in a bucket. It is tragic to see and hear. Even sadder, some people just can't accept it and insist that he sounds OK. If he had any respect for his legacy and his fans, he wouldn't be doing this. He should have retired at least ten, maybe even 20 years ago. From touring anyway.
@@blastfromthepast8344 WELL said. Didn’t help that he was Pissed AGAIN. wtf is he doing getting pissed while trying to hit the notes he used to or at least hold a note. Maybe he cuda carried it off 30 years ago but not now. Tons of fans won’t accept it. Have you seen 👀 the posts on Twitter from women calling David ‘Sir’ & ‘My heart beats for you, even my bones breath for you’ ! Stalker territory, startled me when I read it LoL. I’m finally glad to see someone speaking the truth. I was Gutted 😞 hearing him sing so badly. Its like a beautiful amazing painting has been defaced. Lets say he had a cold, It doesn’t justify him singing drunk Thousands and thousands of views on some recent vids but only a few hundred likes. That speaks volumes
@@fluffylynxpuss5043 Only a fool or an alcoholic would go on stage drunk. People should shut their eyes and listen and then ask themselves whether or not they should be paying to hear that. They say love is blind... seems like it's deaf too. I'm quite pleased with that final line.
Yeah Man I mean he's a legend but it broke my heart watching that video, I just think sometimes lead singers should bow out gracefully if they can't get it done. But I ca't wait for the show
Poor Dino he's at the end of the stage on the left side barely out of view. But Dino has spirit and drive and he'll make the best of this. That's just the way he is.......Love to our Dino Jelusick!!
@@DebraNormand LOL thousands of people will get to know Dino now(including me) and also he can always say he was part of a legendary band. Think before you write, thank you
Well no matter how bad his voice sounds here @ least he didn't try to cheat the fans by using backing tracks. The thing about Whitesnake is David has a good ear for musicianship and he always has a great band behind him.
If any of you aren't aware, Hoekstra and Aldridge are also part of a new band called "Iconic." It also features Michael Sweet from Stryper on guitar, Marco Mendoza on Bass and Nathan James on vocals. The first single released from their debut album is called "Nowhere To Run."
@@charliemckeever3192 It has a classic 80's rock sound. I like how a lot of these guys are playing for multiple bands nowadays. If I'm correct, Reb Beach still plays for Winger and he also plays for another band called Black Swan.
@@wolfgang548 yep you definitely right about reb about winger and black swan got to see winger about 2 2years AGO brilliant nathen is a brilliant vocalist check out his band inglourious
@@wolfgang548 yeah check out I dont need your lovin and glory days probably the best best 1ns ta see how good His voice is .. oh snake gig this Saturday 4me.. 👍👍
I have been a huge Coverdale fan for 40 odd years but this is a complete embarrassment and an insult to people paying a lot of money to go to Whitesnake gigs. Should have packed in when he was at top of his game ...if I recall I bought tickets for a "farewell" tour 20 years ago. Great shame but everything comes to an end .
I reckon you'll find that's Joel Hoekstra and Reb Beach (Doug hasn't been in the band for years) the new girl is an Irish lass, Tanya (and a great bass player to boot!)
I was at this concert last night , all the bands where great including Whitesnake . I thought David Coverdale was struggling a little with his voice sounded maybe he was suffering from the effects of a recent cold or flu . I thought probably Foreigner where the strongest band on the night .
Yeah Man they're legends I can't wait for the show struggling vocals or not those notes were hard to hit for him in the 80's they are difficult trust me, my old lead singer in our cover band hated our set list because it ad a lot of the bellowing vocals
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle And how many people will be disappointed and embarrassed? And then wish they hadn't gone. He stopped sounding good at least 20 years ago. Just accept it.
Coverdale es whitesnake y si David se acaba whitesnake también se acaba no digas estupideces nadie va a reemplazar a nadie, es como querer sustituir a Van Halen en el caso de la guitarra 🤦🏻♂️
Wow, that feminine backing vocals voice of Tanya... amazing!!! Very good!! Whitesnake 2022 is another game... of course, Dave does not have anymore that vocal potency he used to have in te 70's, 80's and 90's. But that's life.... to be a seventy year old man and still have the pipes is kind of a rare thing... Steven Tyler and Sammy Hagar are forces of nature, not of this earth, but they are the exception. Dave has nothing more to prove also, he's an influence for so many singers and bands.
I´m a great Whitesnake fan since the 80´s. Been to a few concerts including monsters of rock in Stockholm back then with Whitesnake as main act. Also saw Whitesnake with "original" setup, with Marsden and Moody on guitars. To be 100 % honest, I know this is a farewell tour, but that farewell tour should have come at least 5 years ago. Coverdales voice is as bad as Jon Bon Jovi ( who nowdays sound like a drunken cat). I don´t know why this Rockstars, especially singers don´t withdraw earlier. They did their thing, made impact on rock music, are rock icons and big time millionaires. Isn´t it always better to stop with honor then beeing remembered as someone who sang like 3#%%f?´the last years. Sorry to say, but this concerts now just look like a coverband. You can feel there is no real energy on stage.. But that´s just my opinion. :-)
You are a bit naive here. That tour is the farewell number one. Yes Coversnake! Next farewell will be with Sarzo and Vanderbergh. Then!!!!he might do a Slip Of The Tongue tour with Vai. These guys still have a good 20 years to live plus most are grandpas(Family here) so its all,all about money and nothing else. Remember the 1970s-80s and 1990s these decades were still about music and competitions. Now its only about business and milking fans. What that cunt is doing on the stage here?? Why not bringing some past members instead. Ridiculous it did come to an end.
@@Solar-Busters It could actually be a great end if for example Coverdale during the absolute last concert on the tour pass the torch over to Dino, give him his blessing and saying that Whitesnake will live on. Then that would be the real deal for fans, and not just some cover and playing whitesnake songs.
@@scandmaster I know Dino. I am from Croatia, and he is great guy and great singer. ❤️ But Whitesnake without Coverdale and any other original member would be, at least, strange.
Yeah, that's what kills me about this comment section.... So much bullshit about David and his voice, but Tommy is fucking killing it up there at 71 years of age. And Reb and Joel are just absolute guitar gods. I understand the comments to a degree, but David is also 70 years old at this point. It's extremely rare to be singing this stuff in your 70's at all, much less at peak performance. People should just chill.
just think.....Tommy is in his 70's rocking harder than say that Foo Fighters pill popper who everyone is so upset about when he checked out.Just goes to show you that stay straight and sober.... live on to rock in your golden years.RIP Neil P.
i met Tommy in 1972 and have been a fan ever since. The reason I got into double kick drums. This band still sounds great. Wish they would come to Indianapolis....
Anyone thinking DC can’t cut it vocally anymore should watch a recent Bon Jovi video as a pallet cleanser. You’ll come back to this clip thinking Coverdale is singing ala 1974 Deep Purple era!!! 😂
I was at this show. Europe was great to start with and tbh foreigner stole the show. They were unreal. The audio crew fecked up for David and he know it from the reaction he gave them afew songs into there set. It was very hard to hear him and at times I couldn't hear him at all but When it was sorted it was brilliant. Still has a great voice for his age and put on a great show. Over all it was a great night.
@@robertwilliamson5309 I wouldn't call them a tribute band but I get where your coming from. With bands this old there very few if any that still have all or any original members but for me anyway to see a original founding member Mick jones who's 77 years old come on stage to play it's hard to call them a tribute band
Actually Tommy would tell you that the Creator of Earth is God and Jesus Christ is God's son!.Tommy has been a clean living Christian most of his career!
Despidamos a david como se merece después de tantas décadas de buena música. Ya iba a llegar este día en que sintamos tristeza y nostalgia por los buenos tiempos. Y no sólo es el. Es una era dorada que empieza a decir adiós.
it is what it is, tour till the seats are empty, dont blame a man for trying to work. the day the seats are empty, thats when its over. sadly some like ratt, dokken, cinderella, etc etc just play to 150 people in bars. now thats sad...
DC smoked for decades, so stupid. Some old rockers can still kick arse, including Axyl Rose and Blackie Lawless. Blackie wrecked his voice, but it recovered after. His throat specialist asked, did you warm up your voice before performances. He answered, no. Now he does and his voice is better than ever. His treatment included not speaking for 6 weeks.
Was there & was a great show. an excellent night had !! Europe were quite good too as were fornier, but whitesnake were fantastic. Well done on the good quality video also
Was there and can confirm whoever was doing the sound should get the boot. Absolutely terrible. In fair dave was still hitting some notes right but time took its tole. Foreigner stole the shoe closely followed by Europe. Still glad I went. All 3 together were great as a whole.
Exactly what I thought in Newcastle last night, I'm sure the guys on sound were set up for a rave - it was all bass, David was drowned out by his own band but it was great to see him, Foreigner were awesome even if Mick was only brought in for the encores and looked like he was struggling, Europe suffered from the sound mess as well but just about managed to carry it off.
I have an older DVD of Whitesnake concert doing all there hits and then some.At the begining of the show he says......HERES ONE FOR YA....and they go into two Deep Purple hits from years back.......Burn and Stormbringer.Ive watched that DVD a hundred times. Its a good thing DVDs dont wear out....!!!.....Or ide be Cryin in the Rain...!!!
Ahh no the voice is gone he should just stop. Also you notice the backing vocals are doin the high notes. I remember seeing them in the point theatre years ago and he was amazing, he hit that high note on still of the night and held it, and it was mind blowing sadly not anymore I reckon.
Compared to Jon Bon Jovi everyone sounds great nowadays! Actually Coverdale doesn't sound so bad when you consider how JBJ, Don Dokken and Paul Stanley are faring lately.
DC was a monster vocalist, who set the bar very high. Thats a heck of a long time ago but for me, watching him give a performance that is way below that bar, is not for me. In comparison with DC at his best, this is nonsense. Why anybody bothers with this shenanigans, be they musicians or punters, is beyond me. DC is but a shadow of the vocalist he used to be.
Now, we just get the “other” guy to sing lead vocals and we have a kick azz Whitesnake again. Dave can wear a cheerleader outfit and bang on a tambourine.
Dave the boss Coverdale does a lot of letting the crowd do the singing these days. His contribution to rock music is legendary, but would like to hear him sing an entire song though. Good move getting a glamour injection into the band with Tanya. She's pretty fit.
The only guy this bad now is David Lee Roth and when he was on top he was definitely in an exclusive club of front men. But it's been decade's or longer probably since his vocals were even passable for a hard rock band.
How can you really tell? The recording is shit. The mic being used is compressing the crap out of it. When it isn't his voice sounds pretty damn good...
