I’m a 52 year old white male that grew up listening to heavy metal music. I remember when this album came out in 85. It was as far from what I listened to as it could be but…. I ❤Whitney Houston. Her voice was PERFECTION. I cried like a baby when she left.

Her voice was incredible and she was such a beautiful woman. She made you believe that she sang a song especially for you. Gone way too soon. In her prime Whitney was live even better. When I saw her once in concert I couln't get that she topped her studio recordings with her live performances. Just listen to the live version "Japan 1991". R.I.P Whitney.

watch the music video for this song and it will be PERFECTLY CLEAR lol. Also, rumor has it (thanks Adele !) that the guy in the music video has a striking resemblance to someone in her real life at that time ('84-'85) - (but you didn't hear that from me LOL). I am fortunate to remember when she was coming along, and I remember when this song came out. Back then, you could buy 3 45 single records for five dollars at Musicland at the mall! I had that 45 record. I wore it out! So glad I got to see her in concert probably 1986 for the I wanna dance with somebody tour. Whitney was amazing!

There may never be anyone even close to Whitney. She had such beautiful pitch and voice control. I recommend watching the live performance of Cynthia Erivo singing Alfie at the Kennedy Center Honors for Dionne Warwick. Just ties back to Whitney. Cynthia Erivo may be the closest to Whitney I've ever heard as far as voice control and pitch.
