Hard to see, but I'm pretty sure the backup singers are Winans as well, Debbie and Angie. That family connection helps with that fantastic blend. Good reaction!
They owned Arsenio Hall Show that night. They sang their hearts out on both songs. And Whitney shined & sparkled like the star she was when she was singing background or lead. I always admired Whitney & CeCe's friendship. Whitney sang background vocals on 2 of BeBe & CeCe's gospel album "Heaven" & "Different Lifestyles." Great request👍
This was a fun performance! Fun fact: The band actually messed up the tempo by playing a little too fast, so Bebe, Cece & Whitney really tried their best to keep up. The two ladies on backgrounds are Bebe & Cece's younger sisters (Angie & Debbie)
O.k. I didn't have this fun fact but it did sound fast to me and I was like "Was it always this damn fast?!" lol. Consumate professionals because this key at this tempo is a WORKOUT! lol
Whitney's first solo in this song is like a punch in the stomach and a whatever the opposite of a slap in the face is. I just love it so much. Her voice shines bright af there
This was one of the greatest friendships. They all came from the church. All had that spiritual background. And they became sisters and brothers. Whitney became a part of the Winans family. Angie and Debbie Winans are singing backgrounds. And I think Whitney did background vocals on an Angie and Debbie album.
The Houston’s and Winans all grew up together because the families sung gospel. So those 3 been together around each other growing up. The 2 woman in the back singing are Winans too
I like that you notice & pointed that out Jack. That was one thing many people always said about CeCe & Whitney's voice how similar they sound. Especially on their W2H "Count on Me" song, a reaction you have already done that I really enjoyed, their voices sounds so similar on that beautiful song as well.
That's such a great performance, Whitney and cece have a similar tone but u can hear the difference. Arsenio was taken off the air because he had Louis Farrakhan on as a guest, certain groups in Hollywood were not happy and flexed their power! The years he was on were really an era where black music and artists finally had a home on regular tv, back then MTV was not real supportive of rap and rnb. They really still ain't-haha I said it!
If you really know this song then you know that tempo was accidental increased by a lot lol They all kept going as true professionals but if you look closely there were some side looks they were giving each other and some of those smiles I know they were trying not to laugh lol #realsingers #realsinging #livevocalists
If you look at it Whitney is a full soprano and cece is an alto so of course her voice won’t go as high and as powerful as Whitney’s voice. There vocal tones are actually very similar. But you shouldn’t compare them. They both stand in their own lanes.
@@nehemiahgatlin7620 actually Whitney is high soprano and at this time cece was a soprano as well not as high as Whitney but their tessituras were very close together which is why they can sing around the same area and be comfortable. She’s a mezzo now tho
