It Was Also A Musical Relationship Since They Both Kept Inspiring Each Other & It Reflected On Brandy’s Self Titled Debut & Whitney’s Your Love Is My Love Albums
CC said that Whitney was going thru something on the day of the live show. She also said during rehearsals she held The Queen Of Soul at bay with her powerful voice.
People sometimes forget that these artist are real people who get nervous too and there’s always a different energy when a performance is live and there’s a crowd of people in the audience with excitement and expectations. It hits different.
@@beemocha her brother helped kill her and Brandy is a damn fraud for covering for him . Whitney showed up wet, dripping wet when she handed that note to Brandy while Brandy was literally being interviewed. It was so important Whitney Interrupted the interview while wet, stating "she almost drowned" and handed Brandy the death note.
That's what I keep telling folks.. Whitney was stone cold in the church, and Cissy sang back up for Elvis. Dinner is her cousin. And aretha as god mama! I ❤ IT!! What a combination!
By the mid 90s, Whitney’s lifestyle was taking a toll on her voice. I love Whitney’s music but at this point it was 50/50 on whether she was going to be amazing or struggle through the song.
There’s something about cece that brings out the best in Whitney … each time they sing together Whitney seems so relax n happy … the love between them is just …..❤
@@soubeautiful7066wow so she was only 33 when recording Cinderella as the fairy god mother?? Always thought she was older in that role. Probably because I was only 10 😂
@@southerngirlchef5886I think she has more of lower tone Now. Then she did years ago. I notice a drastic change in her voice as well. It sounds more fitting and pleasant. Instead of her just screaming and yelling. I like how her voice sounds now. It sounds more controlled and comfortable
This is too cool to see. It says A LOT about how legendary Whitney Houston was, as an artist and performer, that it's her own band backing all of these artists at the Grammy's. I recognize Ricky Minor on bass (Whitney's music director), Bette Sussman (Whitney's piano player from the very beginning, was playing in clubs with Cissy), Wayne Linsey on keyboards, Kirk Whalum on sax, and I think I recognize Pattie Howard and Olivia McClurkin on backing vocals. All legends and geniuses in their own right. And that was Whitney's personal band through the 90s, making her live shows absolute magic. Says a lot.
This is the Whitney I knew, luv, and want to always remember for her GOD given talent at its prime! We lost a good 1, but like all the 'GREATS' that have come & gone👼...Life here on earth is only temporary, and it's up2 US to leave a powerful & positive impact 🖤
Listening to these songs I immediately connected them...this is the soundtrack of Waiting to Exhale! 😊❤ I love these songs and the movie! RIH Ms Whitney! 😢🙏🏾 I loved Brandy and her connection! ❤
* I love how Whitney was. They had already stated earlier in the day of this performance that Whitney was a little under the weather for those that don't know, which explains the change you hear in her voice. I thought the live version was still beautiful too.
Wow this is amazing. I remember watching the Grammys live in 1997. I remember during the night Whitney wasn't in the best voice. But she killed vocals during this rehearsal.
I always love the fact that her rehearsals were waaaay more better than the final performance. By the way, thanks so much for sharing this. It's so precious. Please share more of her rare contents. ❤
So true. I love how everytime she sings a song 🎵 it’s always a little different than the time before. I miss this raw talent & energy from this time in music.
Whitney was a gift from God. I am so grateful I was around for the new releases of music and movies. So many talentee artists, but no one like Whitney, and love for all the women in this clip. Love for MJB running through my vains as is Cece, but Whitney was a gift from a higher power, a blessing with all her faults she showed love RIP Whitney. GOD BLESS
that was sooooo cute. I sat and watched this whole thing, so magical and so professional. I still holler at the hard prison stances Mary used to have back in the day on stage. She softened towards the end of this rehearsal. LOL. Man oh man, Whitney was truly special to me. And Cece - whew my lord today, she's anointed through and through. Watching this brings back memories.
Thanks for posting this! Despite the challenges, Nippy did her thang! People must understand voices and what could happen between rehearsal and the live event 🤷🏾♂️.
Brandy should have been the one to play Whitney Houston and her life story, they were the same size, had some of the same tones, but would have been perfect, and she would have been rehearsed enough of being in Whitney's real life, to know how to betrayed the story, while giving authenticity and respect at the same time.
I discovered this yesterday and i like it. Whitney can make reheatsal seem interesting. It always fun and interesting to watch unreleased rehearsal footage. Thanks for uploading this and sharing it with people.
Wow this is incredible! Also, Whitney's voice was much stronger during rehearsal compared to the actual performance. Maybe she came down with something a day or two later which impacted her voice. Still an amazing performance and the rehearsal is legendary
Whitney sounds great and vibrant here. Her voice has a clarity and assurance that were somewhat missing in the actual performance. Loved when she sang free of expectations - she just sang and it was always beautiful
