One thing l truly loved about WHITNEY she always took a backseat when sharing a stage with other artists. She never made it about her or turned it into a Whitney show. She was really humble!!
I don’t think that part of her gets enough attention. Even at her peak she was never slow to share the stage or give attention to others. Never tried to out do or show up anyone “There’s enough sun for us all”
So she should !! Dionne is far more experienced and Whitney a misled drug addict with a stunning voice. A catastrophe of life at the (almost) top. Shocking story of events.
Whitney at 8:32 is the reason I fell in love with her voice back in 1985. I have shivers down my spine just listening to her at that point in this clip. What a beautiful voice!!

Going to say this Whitney you can tell when she let that note rip she had being doing vocal strengthening lessons it wasn't like her prime but she was able to let it rip which was a wonderful surprise

This is one of my absolute favorite Whitney live performances. It was in 2004. She was in and out of rehab. That year, the Women's World Awards honored Whitney and her cousin Dionne Warwick for their timeless contributions to music as world-renowned singers. Of course, the audience expected them to sing during the show. But since Whitney was in such a dark place then, I believe Dionne volunteered to do a solo performance for the two of them. Whitney - who is widely considered the Greatest Voice of All and is the only black artist in history to have Three Diamond-Certified Albums - humbly and graciously relegated herself to the corner; A megastar in the background. However, as they say, it doesn't matter where you put a diamond; A diamond remains a diamond whether in the middle of the room or in the corner. Everyone's eyes were fixed on Whitney. The audience kept egging her to join Dionne. To help facilitate this, the other awardees - who saw what was happening - moved to the center of the stage and Whitney had no choice but to stand alongside her cousin. What happened next was pure magic.

Beautiful Whitney, looking like a queen, sounding strong and clear 😍 The mutual love and respect between her and Dionne was clear and very sweet. Very special lady and greatly missed.
She did not have vocal cord surgery...its long been stated that she was scared that it would destroy whatever of her voice was there....smoking profusely while trying to quit the hardee drugs while in and out of rehab is what ruined her prestine sound. Yet through it all she could still have some very good vocal moments in later years. She was at one point the greatest pop female vocalist on the planet. But life is life and time is time. No one is the greatest forever!
I know the audience, when Dione was singing was like 'God let Whitney Houston sing damn!!!!!!!!!" No shade on Dione, but that's the truth, everybody wanted to hear Whitney's voice!!!
