Beautiful Whitney was sadly struggling here and this performance is painful to watch, but this night will never define her or the truly INCREDIBLE, LEGENDARY, singer/vocal artist that she was!! I LOVED her music, and for me and I’m sure many others, there will never be another like the beloved “Whitney Houston.” She’s safe and at peace in the arms of Jesus now and singing in His choir of angels!!❤️✝️
Me too. Clive Davis did whatever he could to make money off of her. The night she died, he was hosting his annual pre-Grammy party in the same hotel she was in. She died and her time of death was called at 3:55pm. Clive did an interview with Don King and he said that he asked the paramedics to wait until during the party, once all the guests had arrived, to remove her body so it didn't cause a scene. Witney signed with Clive Davis when she was 19, but there was no way he was going to stop his party for anything. Sick.
She looked great here to me. It was just way to many issues going on on that stage with the sound and her not being able to her herself. The 2006 Winter Olympics concert she was at her absolute worse. It was not a good look for her.
Listen to her 2008 concert in Morocco. She did a great job there. It was miles better than this. There was too many issues going on with the sound and She couldn’t hear herself.
It is really sad. I’m a professional opera singer and I can assure you the vocal problems she was having were not due to the weather, or the sound problems. I’ve done a lot of outdoor concerts and have experienced some sound problems but you always know what’s going on vocally. Sound problems affect timing etc. but not vocal performance. She has lost most of her top register. Her incredible musicality got her through this, trying to push through and sing in full voice on damaged chords was never going to work and that is why she pulled back took a lot of the volume out and floated her head voice up the top - that worked. Having said this, she would have had trouble speaking after this concert and it would have taken days of rest to recover. I will always consider her one of the best we’ve ever seen, her voice was divine, but to stay that way it had to be nurtured and cared for. It was heartbreaking to watch.
She will always be the voice ❤️ regardless of the moments here on this stage. It wiĺl never take away the music she left behind . RIP Queen Whitney Houston. Forever loved .
Looking at this performance, I really feel though it was the Soundsystem and on top of that it’s really cold so with those two things going on right it’s really impossible to perform amazingly if you can’t hear yourself you can’t sing
@ScoobyDoo-bx8vr that's a lie!! " absolutely bad" would be some of her performances at her noting but love tour. Here, her voice is just a bit raspy but still there!!
She had to perform in the dead of winter with a terrible sound system. Her voice could’ve been better if it wasn’t for the environment she was placed in.
Then stop calling it her worst! Her worst was in 2005 when her speaking voice was gone or maybe one of her 2010 concerts. This was a fluke, she had great concerts in 2007 & 2008
Wow, I thought Whitney was basically hiding out in Atlanta at this time. She was divorced from Bobby, in and out of rehab. She also had a bit of facial cosmetic surgery too. I never liked those cheek implants. That dress is too long - she looks a bit lost and unsteady. The stage and sound system are terrible. She's not well - but like always, she's trying her best. We love our girl everyday. ❤
There’s another concert from 2008 in Morocco-absolutely genius from beginning to end; I recommend watching that one as well (available on the channel “Whitney Rarities”).
sound system didn’t help at all! she was already trying to push through vocally, that’s almost impossible when you can’t hear yourself or the music properly!
She could have gone on autotune, nobody would believe its autotune , and it would be fair because she got her voice damaged , but still remains the best singer in worlds history
Wow Melonie Daniels was one of her background vocalists along with who seems to look like MaryAnn Tatum and Takeytha Johnson all of which are Mariah's background vocalists.
Normal people, that is, 99.99% of the world can barely deal with the banal changes in their lives, imagine carrying the burden of marking 3, 4 generations with your voice and your talent? Before you judge this woman for ANYTHING, look at your own life. How far would you go?
Whitney was probably smoking crack at least, maybe that's why she got a gap in her vocal cords, that's why her voice got messed up...But on the last tour, it got even worse.
She was smoking cigarettes, which is exactly what ravaged her voice on the last tour. She also had emphysema, the medication for which caused her to be severely bloated and she could barely breathe. Obviously this didn’t help. Still, I’ll take any performances from that tour over this one.
